FH and I are going the Tradional way. I so and so take you so and so to be my lawful wedding husband to have and to hold through sickness and in health till death do us part.... something like that.

We're doing traditional vows. To be honest, I'm going to be SOOOO emotional already, and I think if we did our own vows I'd just *completely* lose it. I also like the traditional vows and what they stand for/say etc.

Well tell me what you think of this... the only thing is I picked these out soooo long ago when I didn't know if we were getting married at a church... so they are non denominational... is that bad???

What u think? I got these on a wedding vow website, but is it ok to not mention God since I am getting married in a church.

We're going the traditional route--I can't even think about writing my own!

We are going to write a list of the things we want to promise each other and then our officiant is going to write our vows around them. That will be our 'I will' portion of the vows. Then we're using this for the ring exchange portion:

“Amy/Louis you are my life, my love, my best friend.
With my heart I pledge to you all that I am.
I give you this ring in friendship, loyalty, and love.
As it encircles your finger,
So shall my love forever embrace you.”

We aren't getting married in a church. You should speak to your officiant and ask if the church allows you to write your own vows. I think most do, but some don't.

We are writing our own vows - He really wants to do this so I am going to have to practice, practice, practice - I know how emotional I can get - I hope I can get the words out!!

FH won't let me write my own because he says I'm a better writer and he doesn't want to feel stupid ( which is so silly because I know he'd write something beautiful!) so we're actually working with our officiant to create our vows...a little mix of traditional and modern.
