Vows

This was our vows: *gets me a little teary eyed remembering how it felt hearing him say it!*

“I, Peter, take you Melissa, to be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love.
I give you my open heart and mind, my time, and my attention, sharing love in good times and bad, sharing my fears & hopes, and each day bring you joy, strength, and imagination to our relationship. I promise to give you the best of myself and to ask of you no more than you can give. I promise to respect you as your own person- to realize that your interest, desires, and needs are no less important than my own. I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever. I will trust you and honor you. I will laugh with you and cry with you. I will love you faithfully. Come what may, I will always be there. As I have given you my hand to hold-so I give you my life to keep.

These are my solemn vows to you, as I promise to love you all the days of my life---So help me God.”

thanks...yes and no. some of it is original, and some we pulled from a list of different types of vows that our officiant emailed us in a file. i kind of edited and snagged a line here and there from like 10 different vows, and then we added some more ourself. the vows were VERY VERY important to us, and we wanted to make sure every word meant something.

Makes complete sense... I liked what I have above, but I feel maybe we should mention 'God' in there since we are getting married at a church... guess I will see what I can find
