Morning! Hope everyone is able to stay cool in this oppressive heat...wish I could be at the beach right now
My question for today is about holidays! What do you & FH do for the holidays? Are there any holidays you have to split between families? What is your favorite holiday to spend with FH & why?
FH & I don’t have one particular holiday that we both love celebrating together-both of our birthdays are usually pretty fun—but we do have to compromise on where to spend different holidays-usually I’ll go to Boston for Thanksgiving- that way we can spend Christmas in NY- I feel bad about not having him spend Christmas with his family so I try to make it up to him by going up there for New Years, Memorial Day, & Labor Day (the longer weekends)

Ugh!! We split every holiday. We have to eat at both houses too!
One year we spent Christmas in London, just us two - it was wonderful!!!!

We split up holidays but don't really have any 'rules'. It works. Im not big on holidays bc of how I grew up. I don't really have a favorite holiday with FH. Since I was little 4th of July has been my fav bc it's always nice out, bbq food is yummy, and nobody gives anyone a gift. I grew up very poor and hated holidays where you had to exchange gifts. It ****** and I always felt bad if we couldn't afford to give or get gifts.

FH's favorite holiday is Halloween don't ask me I have no idea. I don't really have one. For Thanksgiving it is usually spent with his family. Christmas Eve is spent with mine we only celebrate Christmas Eve and not Christmas Day its a European thing. Christmas Day is spent with his family.

we will prob split holidays not sure what will happen for christms yet since he is catholic and my dads family celebrates christmas too,
but chaunkka will be my family
thanksgiving will be back and forth if we cant go to both
