Just wondering how many girls are walking down the aisle with both of their parents v. just their dad?
I alwasy envisioned that I would walk down the aisle with my dad but my mom keeps hinting that she would like to walk down with us.. i feel bad saying no..but its just not what i would want ideally.
FH's mom just asked me this weekend if she could walk down with FH instead of him just waiting at the altar with the best man. I said it was fine..she seemed very excited about it. But it prompted my mom to ask again if she could walk with dad and me =)

tough one... i am just walking down with my dad. we havent gotten that far that my mom would ask, but if she did, i would just explain that i envisioned it a bit more traditional and want her to have the wow effect watching me come down the aisle towards her. I also like the idea of then stopping and kissing her after dad picks up blusher to pay tribute that they are both giving you away :)

i'll be walking with just my dad. being the only daughter i know the walking down the aisle and lifting of the veil is very important to him and i dont think my mom would want to take that from him. she has never even mentioned it

my parents arent together anymore- problem solved. do you think it would really mean alot to her? is there another way to make her feel important? dads do seem to really shine for their daughters weddings- walking down the isle, father daughter dance.. makes ya think. does anybody have any ideas for moms?

I will be walking down with both parents. My parents have been divorced since I was 7 and my mom pretty much raised me by herself. I get along with my dad but it feels like he is a friend and not a father. I don't want to leave him out or make him feel bad but my mom has been with me through thick and thin and I feel I owe it to her to have the honor of walking down the aisle with me.

My dad will be walking me down. However, is there a break in the seating (pews if in a church) where your dad could walk you half way and then your mom could join the two of you. Just an idea---I have seen that done.

wow, you basicaly took the words out of my mouth. (well except me and my mom being close- but still she has raised me)
i know this is a different situation than yourss and one parent shouldnt feel bad, i just dont know if even explaining it to your mom in a calm way would make her ok with it, im sorry, i just know how my mom is about things and wont see the other side of it.

Im walking w/both my parents. FH w/his mom (his dad is deceased). in Jewish tradition thats how its done, both parents give their children away. I couldnt have it any other way, I want both of them there at all times

I'm walking down the aisle with my dad. I haven't seen my mom since 5th grade, so I can't relate to you, but if you want to include her, then you should. Or you can do what some other ppl said with having her meet you half way and walk down with you and your dad. Do whatever will make you happy in the end.

I am much closer with my Dad, and everyone knows it-including my Mom. While my Mom suggested that both COULD walk me down the aisle, she even said that she thinks just my Dad should b/c she knows I'm much closer with him.

I am walking down with just my mom. My parents are divorced and my mom is the parent who raised me. Dad will be lighting the unity candle, but my mom has the honor of walking me down the aisle.

Re: Walking Down the Aisle
just a random note,,... i saw a show the other night and the bride walked down the aisle with her bridesmaids. It actually looked very nice. I don't have either of my parents around so i was actually considering this. Or to have my uncle walk me down or walk alone.

This is a tuff one, I am doing both but that is top secret...I am going to keep it a suprise prob until the rehersal. They have both done everything for me my whole life and although I did picture all three of us walking down after thinking about it I really want to do it.
