walking down the aisle

I have been wondering about the order of people walking down the aisle. Do the grandparents go first and then the parents except for my dad or is it the other way around and does it matter the order of bridesmaids down the aisle as far as who goes first? I know this might be a silly question but I bet other brides have had this question to.

I just worked on this with my officiant. If you're having any type of religious ceremony (Jewish or Catholic) there are certain 'rules'. For example, in a Catholic ceremony the groom and groomsmen are already at the altar as the guests arrive. In a Jewish ceremony, both parents walk the bride/groom down.

I'm being married by a judge so we are having the officiant walk down first, then grandparents, then best man/maid of honor, who will stand closest on either side of us, then the rest of the bridal party paired up will walk down and fill in, then my brother is walking my mom down, then my fiance will walk down with his parents, they stop and leave him a few feet from the officiant, then my dad walks me down and gives me to my fiance, and we walk up to the alter together. He's Jewish, so he wanted to walk down with his parents but, I wanted to walk down with just my dad so, we're doing it a little differently.
