Wardrobe for Engagement Shoot

Ladies,

Looking for those creative minds out there. I just booked my Engagement shoot for April 25th - coming up soon. I always see people doing cute themes for their shoots.

I wanted these really cute couples shirts one said 'SOUL' the other said 'MATE' with the definitions of a soul mate but the FH says couple shirts are pathetic and we should just wear shirts that say 'I'm with stupid' HAHAH

So I'd like my outfit to be a little not so 'typical' I see so many people in the button down flannels and stuff I wanted something fun spunky and original.

Any ideas on wardrobe themes? I am drawing a blank on this

Wardrobe for Engagement Shoot

My shoot is April 18th!! So funny!!! I was thinking exactly this yesterday. No idea what were going to wear yet. Part of me is leaning just toward casual nice clothes so we can have these pictures framed and not necessary just save the dates ya know. I keep going back and forth

I def. originally wanted something with just classic nice clothes but then I was like why not make it fun? I was thinking sports cause I see a ton of football and hockey jerseys but we don't really love any sports so much that we would do that... Then I thought semi nautical because the pictures are on the water/beach but then there's one location but vacant forts with graffiti I feel like I want something fun and different out of the box

i like ones that are personal to the couple... one of my cousins and her husband really enjoy going to rock concerts together even though you would never tell by the way they look so they dressed in leather jackets and had theyre photoshoot at a rock show... find something you enjoy doing together ...even if its something simple like going to the movies or amusement parks and make it around that with your FH

I really think you and your FH should stay true to your personal style! If you like pink and frilly, be pink and frilly! Maybe have two outfits too - one more casual and the other a little more dressy.

At the end of the shoot maybe you and your FH can switch outfits and he can lay on you or you can dip him - be a little silly!

Also, this isn't necessarily wardrobe but I'm really into props and adding things into the shoot. I definitely want to bring bubbles and glitter/confetti and just go wild and have fun with it. A friend of mine has an amazing Etsy shop and she makes the most beautiful banners and signs for shoots. If you're interested I can message you her shop info!

Wardrobe for Engagement Shoot

I had my first shoot last summer and we changed outfits but it was a disaster. It was hot and stuff and the photographer too awful pictures. Thankfully I was able to
Hire Patken and my second shoot was 100% better. For the second shoot we just wore jeans and stayed comfortable. So I say go for the stuff is natural for you guys. I agree a lot of people so the cookie cutter shoots and that's great when it works for the couple. But if you guys are silly and enjoy that about yourselves go with it. It's those silly things that will make the shoot an amazing experience. your shoot is on my wedding day. Lol. Good luck Hun. Have a ton a fun during the shoot.

Yeah I was actually thinking of getting spray paint and adding to the graffiti on the forts I thought it was unique - its not something we do together but it would make fun pictures... I wanted to bring glitter too I saw some shoots of the bride and groom blowing glitter out of their hands and it looks so awesome

I don't know what to do for this either! We're doing ours beginning of June in a garden-I was thinking a cute/casual sundress and khakis for him. We don't have any sports teams or anything like that either.

Aww thanks. And I'll be thinking of you too. It's a good day lol. I think all the ideas you're playing around with will make for a great shoot. If you find pictures of stuff you like and show it to your photographer, they can help you create it too. The pictures will be amazing!!

Vimaheri I almost feel like you guys should do like an alice in wonderland tea party theme since you will be in a garden that would be so cute!

We were that couple with the button down flannel shirt and white dress lol pics in my album. But that's how FH usually dresses though so it worked for us. I think the shirts sound cute! Then maybe have another outfit to change into so you have a variety of shots.

I looked on Pinterest for outfit ideas. Originally we had thought of doing a vintage pin up theme, but went with a Christmas ish shoot instead. I wore a lace top with a red cardigan, jeans and boots, fiancé wore a black sweater something he was comfortable in. We bought Starbucks cups with 'Mr.' And 'Mrs.' written but our barista was a jerk and it didn't 't come out how I envisioned lol. We also used candy canes and a chalk sign for our date/future mr/mrs. Its all what you two like though and your personalities. :)
