Warehouse Wedding??

Warehouse Wedding??

About 2 years ago I was watching a wedding show on TLC and the couple rented out a warehouse and transformed it into this beautiful venue.

Now considering FH and I have looked at 14 halls and contacted countless others and have not found anything (frustrating ) I was thinking of pricing something like this out.

Does anyone have any advice? are there any locations on long island? I know the foundry in long island city, which I love, but they are far too expensive.

I've actually contacted pilgrim state, I live close to there and I LOVE the outside of the buildings, they can not host a wedding as they are an active facility, but she gave me the contact information for some of the abandoned buildings, but I know the rooms are too small.
I even tried some museums on long island, but most say no to weddings.

I googled 'warehouse weddings' and came up with these:

The Foundry is amazing and I was so hoping for a decent site fee from them, but it was far more than I could pay for *just* the space.

This isn't a warehouse, but it is an off-the-beaten-path place to hold a wedding: have you considered the Queens County Farm Museum? FH and I had really wanted to book there but the max for the space we wanted to utelize was 120 people. Their fee is reasonable and included tables and chairs, I remember that much.

Thank you,
When you say 120 people, is that what they could fit or what you were having?
We're looking at around 185, but can only guarantee 150.

Ack. Sorry, I wasn't clear on that. We're looking to have probably double that, so the space would have been far too small.

Good luck! I'll search through my bookmarked sites at home and see if anything else might be something you'd want to look into.

Someone on here did the atrium of an office building and it looked great. There is an event facility in Port Jefferson I thought looked cool for a wedding, and kind of an artsy industrial feel.

It's 120 ppl for the inside space only. No access to outside... sep rental fee and the site fee for foundry itself is close to $9K. SO i fyo uhave a large wedding, you'll need either just the outside space or both spaces. Most of the LOFT / warehouse feel spaces are MORE than the others and you have to deal with numerous vendors to decorate a raw space. I looked into this. The site fees alone are ridiculous... thats all before your catering and major vendors. Yikes!

what about the spaces on the whatever under the promenade in brooklyn?

there was a celebrity event there, i think it was a cirque de soleil thing they did and they put a tent up and rented all the furniture etc
