Ok, I just called someone's house, I won't say who, but let's call her Sue, and I hear her boyfriend, who we'll calll Bob, in the background going, 'Give me the phone. GIVE ME THE PHONE!' And Sue puts him on the phone. Then he says to me, 'I had a feeling it was you, I told her to let the machine pick it up.' I was like, what? because I thought he was kidding, but he wasn't. Then he says to me, 'Yeah, that's right, I'm in a bad mood, do you have a problem with that?' I was just like, tell sue I'll talk to her later and hung up. THEN Sue proceeded to call here like 12 times when I was in the shower, then she finally got a hold of me and was like, 'Why the hell did you hang up on Bob? Bob said you hung up on him!' And I told her that I said I would call her later. And she was SOOOO p0-ed at ME for supposedly 'hanging up' on her boyfriend. I mean, was I wrong to hang up on him? And I'm sorry, FH would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS talk to someone like that. NEVER. I'm so mad!

Let's just say, I have to deal with these two ALL of the time and she is a totally different person when he's around. It really upsets me.

Re: Was I wrong?
That is a jerk move!! I would have told him off then hung up on his behind! Everyone has their bad days but to go off on someone just b/c is plain nasty!! He did deserve to get hung up on!

Re: Was I wrong?
It took every ounce of me to not FREAK on him. Ok, you know what, I don't care, if she reads this, she reads this, but I don't think she will. It's my sister and her boyfriend. I'm just upset because it's one thing if it's a friend, but it's a total different story that it's my sister

Re: Was I wrong?
He's not abusive, I swear! but he gets very cranky and I don't think he gets it that he can't just say whatever he wants. They have been together a long time and as much as I am complaining about him right now, I really do like him. I just know that IF, and it would never happen, if my FH said something like that to my sister, the sh!t would hit the fan. I think it's because I'm younger, it just seems in my family it's ok to them to walk all over me. They'll never change, they haven't when I've spoken to them, so all I can do is vent about it here and not talk to her anymore today

Re: Was I wrong?
That's awful Rachel... I apologise for the abusive remark...I'm so relieved to hear that he's not. Growing up in an abusive household, I always feel that way. It's terrible that way he spoke to you. Stand your ground and be strong!!

Re: Was I wrong?
Ummm, not for anything, but speaking to someone the way this guy did IS abusive. It's verbally abusive, and it's just as bad as physical abuse. Often, abuse starts out as verbal and escalates over time into physical.
Just had to put my 2 cents in here from experience.
I'm glad you hung up on him! You should never tolerate that from anyone.
I would never trust this guy in a million years. Sounds like he feels he can treat people any way he wants to with no respect for them at all. I'll bet people tip-toe around him already so they don't set him off.
You said your sister is a different person when he is around. It's because she's tip-toeing around him too!! What else does she do to keep him quiet? Heaven only knows. If that's not the start of abuse, then I don't know what is.
Please be careful with this guy.

Re: Was I wrong?
I SWEAR HE'S NOT ABUSIVE! I really think he has just fallen into the pattern of my family, which is say whatever you want because we are family and shouldn't you just be able to say what you want whenever to family? I disagree with it WHOLEHEARTEDLY, but this is what my family is like. We're almost TOO close with one another. It's annoying. I can't explain how she is different, it's not a tip toe kind of different because he is not that kind of guy. I don't know how to explain it I think she's just more defensive towards me when he's around. Maybe he just doesn't like me. I've thought about that, too.

Re: Was I wrong?
Definately you were NOT wrong, no one should talk to you that way.
Family does not have special permission to treat you like $&%*.
You were right to send the message that you will not be disrespected.
He does, however, sound abusive. Don't tolerate it, and I hope your sister doesn't.

Re: Was I wrong?
Wrong with you? No, I think there's something wrong with him, and you're sister doesn't sound too sharp if she asked you why you hung up on him after she hearing him yell at you like that. Whatever crawled up his *** isn't your problem - - and if he was kidding around, he or your sister should had called you the second you hung up and apologized for upsetting you.
