Was or is everybody nervous about fh bachelor party?

Original post by frisky1947

I definately am. My fh is having at least 2, one from work and one from his ushers. They are going to Philadelphia for an Eagles game and I know that his friends are hiring a stripper. I guess I should mention that my fh is a police officer and so are his friends. Last week was his bosses bachelor party in AC and they hired strippers. I was even told that something happened.

How does everyone feel about their fh bachelor parties?

Last summer there was a post on here about the Bachelor Party from you know where. This girl was talking about her usually mild mannered FH, how he was so sweet and shy, and how she thought there was nothing to worry about. She was so confident that she helped plan the party with the groomsmen!

Well Not Only did things go too far, her own FATHER egged on the groom to lick whipped cream off the stripper's breasts. The bride was REALLY upset and the boards were all rallying around her. Her parents were telling her to just get over it, the FH felt awful. She decided to go through with it anyway. I admire her strength, because I would have postponed at a minimum.

That said, I don't think it's right for any of us to judge other people for being nervous. Sometimes even all the trust in the world can't prepare us.

That said, I was beside myself worried, especially after reading that post, whereas I hadn't been before that. His GMs made several comments about how they were 'going to take Good care of him' to me, and while DH isn't the type, his friends are. DH and I even got into quite a fight over it. But we made some deals and compromises, and everything was okay in the end.

And our marriage is and always has been great.

I firmly stand behind the notion of not worrying until he gives me something to worry about. I would take appropriate measures if I ever found out that FH did something to hurt me, but I'm not going to d*mn him before he does anything either if that makes any sense.

I can understand the uneasiness here, but um, what happens if the roles were reversed? I've been to some bachelorette parties where the bride wanted nothing to do with strippers, but the girls got it for her anyway, she had a chuckle and handled it all very well and that was it. Why can't guys do the same?

Well understood, Missing, and agreed. But we shouldn't jump down the throats of the girls who are worried either - it's natural to worry.

As to the Bachelorette parties you've been to, sure, that's a possibility for guys too. I'm sure there have been TONS of guys who handle strippers in a perfectly adult manner. But the difference is, and correct me if I'm wrong, but women for the most part know when no means no. The guy in the crazy Bachelor party said no a few times before he finally gave in to his buddies' and FIL's urgings. And women don't have to worry about defending their femininity, whereas some men feel they need to.
