That's so romantic...wish I had some type of story to tell....to justify why we did what we did when we did.

We met each other in a DINER (of all places, yes, i'm a lard@ss) on a Saturday Night after a night of boozing, went on a date Tuesday Night...did the 'thang' and we've been together ever since!

We lost touch twice, and then ran into each other in a town that neither of us were from. I figured that it was fate that we were meant to be together, but as for an actual 'moment', I can't recall. It just hit me one day, lol.

Don't feel bad! I'm assuming it was good (since you've said you dumped people over a bad lay ) at least it was good. FH and my first time was horrible. It's not anymore, but he was drunk.... lets just say he's lucky he got a second shot!

hmmm
well i knew him since 5th grade and i though he was a jerk.

fast forward to senior year of highschool gym class. i saw him playing basketball and i realized how cute he had gotten. and i happen to need a date for the prom. so i said to myself 'he would look cute in the pictures ill take him'

well i wore my shortest sundress to school one day and i asked him to the prom. he obvioulsy said yes.

i thought he was going to be a summer fling until at the end of the first month we were seeing each other he told me that he loved me. i started to cry( i was scared i had recently broken up with a long term bf who broke my heart) about a month later i got the courage to say the same to him.

Re: Was there a defining moment....

Well, I was extremely attracted to him and originally the relationship was suppose to be a summer thing because we both didn't want any commitment.... We actually ended up becoming close and when we went on a cruise together after dating a year, I knew he was the one. I passed out due to dehydration in a middle of the hallway while on the cruise and he took really good care of me.... That's when I absolutely fell in love with him....

We met on a Saturday, went out on a date 3 days later and he said he'd call the next day. Next day comes - no call. I didn't really care, because it was the summer, I was on fuego and knew I would meet other guys.
WELL - he came to my house after work that Friday filthy from head to toe (I wasn't home of course ) and told my sister he couldn't find my number and really wanted to go out with me again and can she please give him my number.
I knew he was a keeper after that.

the night he told me he'aboslutley loves me'

and I know what night is was for him- he had mentioned he liked the zire? fash wash that he started using ( some one had left it at his hamptons house) and I went out found it and bought it for him- I had it gift wraped -

he couldn't believe I would go thru all that trouble- 2 minutes after I gave it to him, he asked me to meet his parents

Re: Was there a defining moment....

hmm... well, i knew right away that this relationship was gonna be different and more serious than other ones i had had... we just could talk about anything and everything...
BUT... i think i REALLY knew i loved him when we had been dating for a few months and my dad got diagnosed wtih cancer. my parents own their own business, and dad found out right in the middle of their busiest season.... when i told luke, he came 2 hours to my parents house and stayed for a week working for my parents 10 hours a day while my dad was in the hospital , having tests done, and starting on chemo. it just really showed that he didn't just care about me, but he cared about everybody in my life, too definitely opened my eyes

Re: Was there a defining moment....

my fh and i were set up by my mom and his aunt (although they no longer speak, long story) anyway, i had no interest for him, but i am a very friendly person. he was staying with his aunt in bklyn and i knew he didnt know anyone so i asked him to hang out as friends. we wound up hanging out and i really liked him as a friend, and i just got out of a long term relationship. he was so romantic and didnt give up.hhe would leave beautiful flowers and cards on my doorstep. he was so sweet finally two months later we started dating. i think he was turned on because i was such a good girl, and i liked him because he was the opposite of anyone i would have imagined dating. i met his family (not immediate, I already knew them) new years eve and i drank for the first time. i told him i loved him. that night i went back to his house and passed out in my bra and underwear, and guess what i locked me in the room and slept in the living room. i was glad i said i loved him before that, but he made me mean it even more after he was such a gentleman. 7 years later we are still in love with many downs in our relationship.

a few moments
--after almost peeing in my pants from his stories on our first date
-when i fit under his arm on the couch
-when he sent me 2 dozen roses after a 'special' evening
-the fact that i let him drive my car!!!!!!!! that speaks volumes if you know me and know how i dont share for sh*t!

so many things............

Re: Was there a defining moment....

We met at a wedding near my house in Pennsylvania. That night I fell in love. I could not stop talking about him to all of my friends the next day. The next month I came up to LI for business and we went out on our first date. He brought flowers to my hotel room and I knew he was a keeper. We dated long distance for two years before I moved to LI. Now it is 4 years since the day we met and we are planning our own wedding!

I knew there was something special about him when, after meeting 2 weeks prior he walked to my office in NYC and dropped off a basket of chocolate covered strawberries with a beautiful card!! SO thoughtful.
He loves children and is the most not selfish person ever!!

Re: Was there a defining moment....

Actually the first day I ever met him I knew he was the man I was going to marry. Pretty scary, especially because in the beginning we had our ups and downs.

Man are we a bunch of Hoo-ahs (as Momma Goldi would say). I am so tempted to say 'Hey Mom! Did you know I schtupped Ed on the first date?'

Re: Was there a defining moment....

My FI works for the DOT and had to go to Syracuse to pick up a tractor trailer and bring it back to LI. Meanwhile, we were only seeing each other a couple of weeks, but sine the first date it was every night, so this was the first time I hadn't seen him in a couple of days, On his return from Syracuse, he stopped at my apartment to see me and kiss me before he went home to change and take a shower. I knew then that this was the man I would marry,

Re: Was there a defining moment....

It actually came 4 years into our relationship. We weren't doing so well and I was hanging out with a male friend a lot who wanted to take it to another level. My FH had a heart to heart with his father and decided to fight to get me back..but he didn't do it obnoxiously, he stated his case and backed away. What got me was that he said he wanted to be my best friend. 3 years later I can safely say he's my best friend.
