No, not really. I have not lived at home since I was 18 and I moved to NYC years ago with no family in the area - closet is Maryland. DH & I had both been very independent for years (living alone) so our parents had not been 'first' for some time.

My dad and I did speak daily (sometimes several times a day) and that has gone down to twice a week if that. Mom and I still speak every Sunday Dad had no problem adjusting and recently packed up my things that were at his home to give to me to bring to NYC. He does have a new live-in girlfriend though so that is a huge part of it.

The weird part was changing beneficiaries, title documents and various other legal documents to include DH since my dad was the sole heir. Dad on the other hand had no trouble adjusting. He took me off the title to his personal residence ASAP. I guess he feels I won't be needing that house and that I am taken care of now.
