Watch for FH

Uggghhh I don't know what to do! I want to get FH this watch that he's been eyeing as a wedding gift but he's mentioned in the past that he thinks he'd need a longer strap. His current watch is all metal so I can't take a measurement to see what his current watch strap length is cause the new watch has leather straps. I really wanted to surprise him with it on the morning of the wedding but I'd hate for it to not fit!!! I'm afraid if I don't get a longer strap it will be too small but if I do what if it's too big???? Should I ruin the surprise and ask him to go try them on????

Watch for FH - Long Island Weddings

Why can't you use the metal watch to at least estimate if the new watch will fit?

(I don't wear watches and neither does FH so I'm legitimately curious lol)

lol I don't either. I just assumed! I would think because the metal one is a sure fit and the leather watch has the holes that the metal watch wouldn't be a good indicator. Maybe I could use it and then add an inch or something.

What I do when I buy a watch for FH to make sure it will fit try it on myself. When his watch is closed (to the size he wears it) if it can fit over my hand and is a little snug and it slides onto my wrist I know it will fit. Try to see how the metal watch will fit you and then use the same judgment for the new watch. It works every time for me.

That's a great idea!!!! Thanks!
