i ate a meal high in sodium. i realize I need to flush out this water weight I'm going to retain because I have to fit into a dress for a friend's wedding tomorrow. I'll drink lots of water - any other tips to flush a bit of water weight out overnight?

Re: Water weight
Caffeine and citrus, especially lemons, are diuretics. However, I think if you just drink a ton of water, you'll flush a lot out. Then again, if it's hot and humid out, your body might simply want to hold onto as much water as possible. Do you really think you'll bloat enough to not fit into a dress tomorrow?

Re: Water weight
thanks. I just had 3 glasses with lime (didn't have lemon) i seem to retain a lot of water when I have high sodium foods. Whenever I have Chinese food - my engagement ring (which is usually way too loose) won't even fit on my finger!!! I've been so good about my diet but FI and I made a stir fry and I stupidly added a marinade that is high in sodium. The dress just fits and I don't want it to pull anywhere. I think I'll be ok but just wanted to do whatever I could (esp after I lost 2-3 pounds over the last 2 weeks) thanks!

Re: Water weight
There are actually water pills you can buy at GNC/Vitamin Shoppe that work too!

Re: Water weight
You can buy Diurex in CVS. It is a safe water pill and works really well. I used it for the same situation once. It is near the sanitary products.

Re: Water weight
Over the counter water pill and plenty of water with either lemon or lime.
