Waterfront or beach weddings venue suggestions?

Hi all - longtime lurker and I didn't want to create an account due to spam (which is quite a lot) but broke down and made a post due to the frustration of a short-window wedding planning search! We are looking at a September 2014 Saturday evening (I know, it'll be tough).

Long story short, due to attending about 1000 weddings last year and also purchasing an apartment, we had to wait until just recently to start planning our wedding.

Any recommendations on any waterfront or beach venues that can hold the ceremony on site and outside?

We're visiting Smithtown Landing CC, Venetian Yacht Club and Bridgeview is already out of availability.
175 ish people and we want to stay under $150 all-in per person. Thanks in advance all!

Waterfront or beach weddings venue suggestions? - Long Island Weddings

I went to a wedding at Crescent Beach Club, and the ceremony was right on the beach with the venue only a few steps away. The area where the ceremony takes place also has a little boardwalk, which helps your female guests wearing heels! It was totally gorgeous, especially with their chuppah facing the water and the sun setting. :)

West Sayville Mansion on the Great South Bay is where I just booked mine and it's very reasonable.. You can choose to get married at the maritime museum or on site. They have a ton of options and all fees are included in their price. The owner Steve is very nice and gets back to you quickly. I was looking at all the places you were but they were a little out of our price range.

I'm booked at Lombardi's on the Bay but I'm not sure how many people they hold. Lombardi's on the Sound holds more and they do ceremony and reception. Also if you are looking for something more casual you can try The View.

Re: Waterfront or beach weddings venue suggestions?

West Sayville is a Lessings property right?
It's on my research list but that's about as far east as I want to go. Would love to stay within an hour from the city if possible but obviously a perfect venue trumps it all!

Would you mind FMing me some more info if you're comfortable?

Thanks!

Re: Waterfront or beach weddings venue suggestions?

Thanks everyone again for the replies. Could someone FM me any recent quotes on those locales just so I can either rule them in or out immediately?

CLM and Riviera I will look at further, the pictures look great there!

Just a quick update, we loved Venetian Yacht Club, but they have a late start time on Saturday evenings. VYC is also pretty far away from hotels so that's a consideration but the sunset there is gorgeous. We would have to move our wedding to an earlier date to fit the ceremony in with the sunset hours though.

SLCC was definitely a great place to visit, very old rustic feel and extremely reasonable on the package and pricing to work with your budget. However definitely far away and not the best outdoor view from the dining areas.

If you are looking for great views of the water I suggest The Snapper Inn's Pavilion. It's separate from the restaurant and it's a right on the water. It's kind of an open air building. Their website doesn't have good pictures of this space but I found some wedding photos that shows it a bit.

Also definitely check out Land's End!

Try Sunset Harbour. They gave a TON more food then anyone else I looked at and their most expensive package is $65++. Check out my pictures. The sunset ones are on the docks right outside the venue. Its amazing!

CLM would be around 151pp for a Saturday night, that was the quote when we looked this time last year. They have a similar appeal as VYC, so I would def check out CLM if you liked VYC. They have 2 start times, but the earlier time starts 5 I believe. Good luck!!

Great suggestions, the only thing about Bellport, lands end, and sunset are that they are even further east than VYC (about 1.5 hrs out from the city) so it gets a little dicy in terms of finding good hotel blocks and getting there. The pictures do look perfect as they are literally right on the water!

Re: Waterfront or beach weddings venue suggestions?

I agree with my fellow West Sayville brides. The view is beautiful, Steve is great, the price is right and we love all of the options we have! I will send you our rates.

Also - I have heard mixed reviews about the Riviera in Massapequa, but it could be worth checking out!
