I just recently got engaged, May 19, 2011 . We are a non denomination couple and plan on having our ceremony in the same location as our wedding. My vision is the white folding chairs and a beautiful gazebo of some sort with water crashing in the background. Sand would be a plus, but it's not a necessity.
I am really excited to start my venue search. I've already checked out websites, and my next step is to start calling the places I like. I have my heart set on a few places based on their photos. Does anyone have any reviews about Land's End, Sayville or Lessing's Waterfront Weddings (The Pavilion at Sunken Meadow)
We're paying for the wedding all our own. So we can't afford a super pricey wedding. But I won't skimp on the food quality and the waterfront visions. Those are necessities!
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much : )

Re: Waterfront Wedding...PLEASE HELP?!?
Congrats and welcome!!
I know Lands End is gorgeous but very pricey over the summer.
I am getting married at our RH and it is waterfront, but not with waves crashing behind us. We are getting married at Venetian Yacht Club in Babylon which overlooks the Great South Bay and Robert Moses Bridge. It is stunning, and the food is amazing!
FM me for price info if you are interested.

Congrats and welcome! I'm not too familiar with waterfront venues in Long Island but good luck with the search. Perhaps maybe Cheateau la Mer? I've never been but i heard its by the water.

Erikaaaaaaaaa! Hiiii and welcome! :)
Did you check out the pricing for Crescent Beach Club or Waterview Club, I know Waterview Club is around $120/head for Saturday night in Sept because we priced it out, could be cheaper over the summer and on a Friday or Sunday...If I think of more I'll post. I've heard Lands End is GORG but expensive. What about Danfords in Port Jeff? I don't know if they have an outdoor ceremony location though.

Re: Waterfront Wedding...PLEASE HELP?!?
Lands end is gorgeous but def not inexpensive.. there are a few lower priced options on the water..west sayville country club, riverview is nice but they only do day weddings. There is venetian yacht club, chateau la mer, the riviera are just a few! I also wanted that same 'wave crashing, beachy feel' and was seriously considering having my wedding on fire island! It was actually very reasonably priced and it had everything I wanted but I did not want to chance it raining..HTH

Danfords has an outdoor location. Its gorgeous but I don't remember seeing water. It definitely had that feel though! A friend of mine got married last June on a Sat night there.

Re: Waterfront Wedding...PLEASE HELP?!?
There are a lot of places you can look at :)
crescent beach club - right on the beach sand and all Riviera in massapequa - no sand but they have the water and gazebo chateau la mer - on the beach and even has a speed boat that can bring you up to the dock :)
we originally wanted the same thing as and fell in love with our hall, crest hollow - no sand or beach there is a pool and the gardens to get married on are really pretty, worth a shot to look at
Congrats and have fun looking!!!!!!

Venetian Yacht Club Cresent Beach Club Waterview Club Bridgeview Yacht Club
I'd also recommend checking out Sans Souci of Sea Cliff. It overlooks the long island sound, has really beautiful outdoor area for ceremony and cocktail hour, no sand or crashing waves though.

Re: Waterfront Wedding...PLEASE HELP?!?
Congratulations on your engagement!!!
Well, I'm a little partial to Land's End, myself, but it is very expensive in the summer (hence why our date is April!!). But we are having our ceremony at a church so are not concerned about weather in that sense.
Maybe you'll be able to find a date in the fall that is cheaper but not as pricey?
I saw VYC it was a really nice option on the water and much better in price. I've heard good things about Chataue La Mer too!
Good luck!

Crasher....we are getting married at the Riviera in Massapequa. I had the same vision and this place definitely is making it come alive and is one of the more reasonable waterfront halls that we looked at. they have been wonderful to work with so far too, and threw in so much extra stuff for us. HTH!

Re: Waterfront Wedding...PLEASE HELP?!?
I had the same vision as you! We went to the following venues to look.
sunken meadow-hated it overpriced for a beach house. It had shower type public bathrooms with outdoor entrances.
Captain Bills- I loved it but FH was dead set on an outdoor ceremony. They had this beautiful staircase to walk down to get to the aisle.
Riviera- FH loved it. I didn't like the indoor layout. The outside area was super nice for ceremony and cocktail hour but the inside has an awekward layout. It also has a dark wood finish to the walls which i didn't like for my bright sunset themed summer wedding.
Bridgeview Yacht Club- We both love it! It was FH's first pick before we even looked but I was iffy because of the price and the fact his mom was married there a few years ago. The ceremony is not on the water but the area is beautiful! If has a pergola that you can put flowers on to match your theme. It has a fountain and pretty flowery landscaping and a staircase for the bride to walk down. The price isn't cheap (was 120 per plate for July 2011) but the food and service is amazing and well worth it! Also the reception area has all windows which look out on the bay. It has a nice boat dock with a long pier. FH is so excited to come by boat to the RH! We will be doing our 'first look' on the pier! SO EXCITED!!!
If you have any other questions feel free to FM me!

Welcome & Congrats!!
FH and I decided on Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst for many reasons. The view is gorgeous, the food is amazing and it's just a really beautiful venue.
Our second choice would have been The Riveria which is in Massapequa. They are on the water also.
HTH!!
