Watermill Advice

Hi everyone. FH and I are deciding between 2 venues now and Watermill is one. We loved the service and the price but our banquet manager kept throwing in all this 'free stuff'. I never asked for any of it - he just noticed me looking at it and gave it to us! Is it too 'NY' of me to question this and be suspicious? I mean we were so appreciative, but I'm getting married in June next year, so its a prime month. No other place I visited gave out upgrades like Watermill did so I'm wondering what the deal was. They were also the cheapest venue I found and I am always concerned that perhaps we get what we pay for, which may not be a lot. What do you guys think of this venue?

....Also, they said no food tastings so I'll really need some opinions about the food.

we're so torn between 2 places (the other choice is not in Long Island) and we really liked both so i'd appreciate any advice you can give on the Watermill.

TIA!

Re: Watermill Advice

My cousin got married at the Watermill in June and the food and service were both great. She had so much stuff and she was on a budget too.

What type of upgrades?

I got married at Watermill in November and had the wedding of my dreams. People are still raving about the food, service, and how beautiful the place is.

FM me...I can help you with whatever you need!!!

Re: Watermill Advice

my cousin got married there a few years ago and I worked there when I was in HS and in college when I would come home! HIGHLY recommend them! Service and food is fabulous! No worries if you go with them!

Re: Watermill Advice

I wouldn't think it was suspicious, when I met with them, the BM volunteered to throw in free stuff too, a lot of it was stuff that comes standard at other places (like the menu only had one carving station on it, he threw in a second one, etc...)

I looked at halls outside of Long Island as well and the Watermill was the first one I saw on LI. I was floored at the difference of how much more you get for the price (the other places I looked were giving me a lot less for more $$).
