Watermill or Woodbury Country Club???

Hi,
I need your opinions on Watermilll and Woodbury Country Club. I love the garden/grounds of WCC but I like the Astor suite of Watermill. Please help me decide.........I need to book my reception site ASAP, plannning to have the wedding this Sept.
Thanks!

I actually don't think you could go wrong with either one. Is there one you feel more comfortable at? Is there one you think of more often?

I have been to 2 weddings at the Watermill and 2 work Christmas parties at the WCC. I had a great time at both places and don't have a complaint about either.

Although at the Watermill it was a little warm at the last wedding I went to and they couldn't seem to cool the place down. But all-in-all it didn't ruin the evening...

Good luck!!

To me, the watermill seemed like a wedding factory, and with WCC you got individual attention. My best friend got married at the watermill, and inside felt kind of like we were trapped (it was in the downstairs room), where the WCC had tons and tons of windows looking out to beautiful grounds. Also, the WCC had much better food and an amazing cocktail hour. This is all JMO, they're beautiful places and you can't go wrong with either one.... I'm just going with my experience

I'm obviously biased here, but to be honest, I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I've never been to the WM, but I've heard great things....

But if you need an opinion, I say Woodbury!

We just had our wedding at the Watermill...and it was great. Our reception was in the Astor Suite, and their service was amazing. Our wedding day went flawlessly!

But as many others said, you really can't go wrong with either one.

I agree, you cant go wrong with either one. Ive only seen picture of Woodbury Country Club and it looks nice.

Ive been to a wedding at The Watermill (Astor Suite) and we loved it so much that we booked our wedding there!!

Years ago,I worked at Watermill and I have nothing but good things to say about it there. My cousin had his wedding there as well and everyone went above and beyond!

Re: Watermill or Woodbury Country Club???

I had my wedding at the Watermill in November and I could not give them a higher rating. My wedding was perfect, both the day of and throughout the planning process. My guests are still talking about the food, amazing service, and how beautiful the place is. I also loved how many great pictures we got in the gardens and in the lobby. I had about a thousand little details and requests, and they took all of them in stride and executed them flawlessly. I definitely recommend reading reviews on this site...I think I've read 1 negative review in all of my time on here. I also got input from other vendors (djs, photogs, etc) when I was doing my general search when I first got engaged and Watermill was often recommended without me asking specifically about it.

As for it being a 'factory' as someone posted, I couldn't disagree more. My guests were treated wonderfully, and even though there was another wedding going on during mine, I never once saw the other bride or her guests. As for the downstairs room being closed off and guests feeling 'trapped', DH and I specifically chose that room because it was so intimate and romantic, and many of our guests commented on it being exactly that way.

I've never been to the Woodbury CC so I can't speak on it specifically, but I definitely encourage you to do a search, especially on the Bride's Review Board....lots of girls have gotten married at both places.

If you have any questions about Watermill, send me an FM! There are also lots of pics in my album. Good luck in your search.
