I decided since some other halls have a 'thread' on here...lets make one for us. I LOVE talking to other Watermill brides. Lets tell what room we are in and any questions or things we find out we can share with each other.
We are upstairs in the Astor suite.
Some things I found out from my BM there is - that for pictures you can show up as far as 1 & 1/2 hours before CH to take pictures there and the bridal attendant brings you food and drink while your taking pic's.
-They are frowning upon the 'votive candle place card holders' but Im doing them anyway since I didnt get a straight out no.
-The chocolate fountain can only be provided by them. Its $300 PLUS $3 a person
-the bathrooms have attendants in them during the wedding
-you can get flowers for your cake from their in house florist if you need
-you can call to get direction cards mailed to you
If I think of anything else I'll let ya's know.
And SHARE pics! I used to have a pic of the tables( to use with CP' planning but I lost it )

Re: WATERMILL thread
I think i also had tom too!!! i have to check. I cant believe he's gone! -----------------------------------------------------
I know, I can't believe it, either. I am really annoyed. I was between 2 halls, and he was a big reason why I went with the Watermill.
I will contact Brian soon. Thank you.

Re: WATERMILL thread
Does anybody know what the Directions cards look like? I’m thinking of making my own to match my invites, but if the ones they give you @ the WM are nice looking, I won’t bother buying or making any.

Yep! I was there last night and I saw it sitting on the cake table. It looks just like the one on the picture.

PS: The astor bridal suite has been redone and looks nothing like what you see on the website. honestly, i wasn't nuts about the way it looked and now it looks gorgeous. it's redone in a french country style.
I hope she comes on to check so we can ask. I didn't mind it before but redone sounds nice

Yep--just the Astor Bridal Suite. The decor is now totally different. Glenn told me they just did it. I was like, 'Glenn...this looks all new!' The couches and chairs and it looks like it got a fresh coat of paint, too. It's very french country now.

Donna,
Thaks for the update. I'm so excited for you. You were the bride that helped me so much in my first days of planning at the Watermill.
I hope your day is everything you dreamed of.

Thanks, and no worries, I will be able to answer every question you all have about the place soon enough!
It did look AMAZING, I was so impressed. They re-did the wood in the Bostonian room and Astor Suite, the Astor Bridal Suite.....and I have to say when it comes time to the do the details, even after some problems Ihad getting questions answered, I was BEYOND impressed by how they went over everything in such detail. I have NO FEARS they will do an amazing job for mine and all you ladies weddings!

My drop off is the 14th. Did you have to initiate them going over stuff or did they just do so, Donna?

Lana -
When I got there, they brought a huge cart outside to help us bring the stuff in, then the BM helps you bring in it. He goes over ALL the stuff you brought and makes notes, what goes where, when etc. We got lucky that the person we met with was our actual Maitre'D for the night so he made extra notes. I had a detailed list of instructions ( if you want FM me, and I will send you what I gave them) and he went over it all ( it was like 5 pages long) and he made notes. Then he went ouver seating, described how things would flow etc. We went over the details for over an hour in his office. Then at the very end you pay your balance, then he showed us all around again.
They go over everything, favors, CPs, Vendors, PLace cards, Gift table, Cake Table etc in a LOT of detail.
Dont worry I was scared, but I felt soooo relieved at how he took all I had to say and was so good with understanding how I wanted things.
AND I had 2 Storage tubs, 6 boxes and 2 bags worth of stuff! LOL

Re: WATERMILL thread
Thanks so much! I made a list of instructions, too, like where to put family wedding photos (on the mantle behind us), etc. etc. I also have about 100 boxes of favors! Glad to hear it went so well. I also have a bathroom basket I need to drop off. I hope it stays neat. :)

Re: WATERMILL thread
Did any of you get cake toppers or is the Watermill supplying flowers for the cake (included in the price?)? Thanks!
