They told me 14, but I think that would be a bit tight.

Re: WATERMILL thread
They told me 12 as well. My minimum and hopefully max (never wanted a big wedding) is 100 so I'm hoping they will do 10 tables of 10 people each so it's nice and even otherwise I'll have 9 tables of 12 and one of 6. No way are we going over 100, yes that includes 5 kids, vendors, minister, etc.

Me too...I'm only going to do 12 on a few tables if I have to..depends on the RSVP's I guess. Cant even think about yet...ahhhh...too much to think about..lol!
I was at my BM's house last night, she went to a wedding last december in the Vanderbilt room, she said everything was great except to mention that when it came to dinner time...they announced everyone to be seated, but it took a long time for dinner to be served, and so many people were just sitting there waiting for like 20 minutes and she thought that the mood of the event stopped and thought it weird. So I am going to mentione this to the Maitre D on my day, to not stop everything untill some of the dinners are served, and simply announce 'dinner served'...I dont wanna waste that much time when its only a 4 hour reception ya know?

I don't ever remember being at a wedding where the maitre d or anyone for that matter mentioned dinner is being served. Usually I hear from a guet or notice that the entree is being served. Plus the musis is usually a little bit more mellow during that time. I don't think I'd want someone making an announcement like that. It's like saying 'come and get it' to the cattle herd.

I would rather them announce it once it's served then have what my BM said happened, they stopped the music, then lowered ait and made everyone sit down and people just waited and waited till served. I DO NOT want that. I would rather people keep dancing and notice that the food is there then waste all that time.
And actually though, most weddings I remember they have made an announcement asking people to please take their seats for dinner and we waited.
I just dont like that.

The only complaint I tend to keep seeing about the Watermill is that they don't return phone calls. I don't know if this is one particular banquet manager or not. I remember jennie2penny's situation and others who had their wedding there.
I seem to hear that also. I haven't had to call about anything just yet so I haven't experienced it myself.

Re: WATERMILL thread
We are paying $95 per head on saturday, but keep in mind that it's November - not the most desirable month. We wanted october and it was $120/head - if we waited until january, it would have been $75 per head!
