Waxing Question
I was thinking that I should get my legs and bikini waxed for the wedding and honeymoonso I've got some questions...
How long does my leg hair need to be?
How long should I before the wedding?
How long will it last?
Does it hurt? (tell me the truth! I get my eyebrows wax - is it worse or better?)
TIA girls!!!

Re: Waxing Question
I laughed when I read your post -- my MOH made me SWEAR to her that I would not put myself through waxing before the wedding. She did it and said it was the worst pain EVER, didn't last, and was entirely NOT worth the effort. I can't speak for myself, but I think she succeeded in turning me off from it! LOL, Hope that helps!

Re: Waxing Question
I wouldn't do your legs just my opinion. That is alot of wax on legs. Shaving is quick. Bikini not too long just long enough so they can get it with the wax. First time hurts but not terrible, each time after much easier. I would do it as close to the wedding as possible. A day or two before. I am blonde and my can last anywhere from 4-6 weeks.Hope that helps.

Re: Waxing Question
Do not do it the fist time right before the wedding. Do it twice before. The first time I was a bit swollen and sensitive. It hurt like a biatch. The second time I felt great! No problems.

Re: Waxing Question
I get bikini & legs waxed regularly. I would suggest letting it grow as much as possible - probably two weeks. I would get it done 2-3 days before the wedding. It lasts for 2 weeks without growth - then it grows in but not stubbly.Honestly, it hurts my shins the most for some reason - aside from that it is not so bad.
Good Luck!

Re: Waxing Question
bikini wax is tolerable - the place i got to the girl puts her hand on the spot after she rips the wax off. sounds gross and akward but it takes the sting out of it.i'm thinking of getting my legs waxed as well. in a few weeks i think. only half though

I went for my first leg wax & bikini a month ago and everyone complains it hurts like s**t! It DOES NOT!!! I flinched about 3-4 times when she was peeling the strip off on my ankle area, but that was about it. It literally felt like you ripping a small band-aid off your body. If you DO decide to go - take 2 advil within an hour of your appointment. That may have helped me!
Secondly - all spa/waxers will tell you - the hair has to be at least 1/4 inch long for the wax to be worth anything. I went at the end of March and now my hair is only starting to grow back in and I go back in May.
I would start a wax now before the summer season to see how your legs react. You will be VERY blotchy for the time after the wax and within the next 24 hours afterwards because you are ripping off dead skin and hair, so your pores are completely open (so don't expect to go swimming either).
Most waxes last 4-6 weeks depending on the person.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Re: Waxing Question
Does it hurt worse than getting a tattoo or piercing? If not, I can handle it, lol!

Re: Waxing Question
Good questions-I'm doing bikini, underarm and eyebrows 4 days before the wedding. I am bracing for the pain (I've only done eyebrows before).

You may want to try an appointment before this only to see how your skin reacts. You wouldn't want blotchy skin the few days before your wedding.

I've only had my ears pierced and that hurt me more than the waxing.

Yup! I want it so that there is no stubble by the end of the night-I am a hairy German girl and it always happens.

Re: Waxing Question
i just started getting my underarms waxed, my legs and bikini, my underarms is 2 weeks, and im just starting to see a little bit.. when i shaved it was every day. My legs are good, but started coming back in a few days later, and the same with my bikini. i always get my eyebrows waxed an it lasts 3 1/2 weeksI suggest that you start now, if your going to be waxed for your wedding, just think.... if u start waxing now, and ur getting married in october, your hair will barely grow by then, and the waxing will last your Honeymoon!!!!!!

Re: Waxing Question
The legs aren't so bad, but obviously the 'down there' area is a bit more sensitive so of course it will sting more. It really depends on your tolerance level for pain. But you cannot have stubble you are going to have to let your leg hair grow until it is really visible so that they can get the hair from the root. IMO I reccomend the brazilian bikini wax. . . it is totally worth the pain and FH/DH will really appreciate it
ETA: the more frequently you wax the longer it takes for the hair to grow back because you are slightly damaging the follicle (overtime) and therefore the hair grows back thinner and thinner.
I would do it the week of, but DO NOT do the bikini wax if you will be starting your period in a few days. It can cause bruising and extra sensitivity.
