Today was NOT a successful day of photographer hunting. We met with F*i*n*e A*r*t, Sherwood Triart and Michael O'Neill. We found a photog we love (lighthouse) but wanted to see what else was out there, and it was not pretty, money-wise. We have one more to see-capture the moment-on Saturday and then we'll make a decision. It was just such a downer day seeing all the great things out there that we can't even consider because they aren't even close to our budget :( sorry for the rant, just feeling blue :(

I know the feeling....I see some people's pictures and I wish I could have them but we are barely able to afford what we have so I just have to suck it up and know it will be great no matter what!

I'm sorry to to hear that, but don't let it get you down. The upside is you found a place you did like! :) And Sherwood Triart, although great, is way overpriced IMHO. For their video/photography I think they wanted over 9000! We were able to find vendors that charged almost 1000 less, and offered way more. I don't know your budget, but if you want FM me. I have a few quotes from similar photographers that offer great packages, and are pretty affordable for what you get. :)

we went with jaylim. We had our engagement shoot with Kevin on Monday he was great. I can't speak for the work since I haven't gotten it back yet but their portfolio is amazing and they had the best prices I could find.

I tried staying away from Photographers advertised on this site some of the prices were ridiculous. Try Wedding Bee or The Knot they have a more expansive list of photographers than this site does. I think I'm choosing Cosmopolitan Photo&Films Studio they offered good prices but they're a little more on the artsy side. I can FM you quotes if you like.

I'm sorry for the downer day. I know how you feel. I LOVE Lighthouse's work, but they were waaayy out of our teeeny little budget. It'll work out. I know how the downer days feel though, its not fun.

So know the feeling. We went to see one photographer/videographer and they were amazing however I was not about to give my firstborn away to pay for their services. It was insane!!!!! It was so hard because it was like they set the bar. However my FH and I knew where to cut corners and where to splurge a little. We went with Lighthouse photography and they really worked with us- which was so important to the both of us- as well as our budget. Sorry you had a downer day, but chin up. Things always have a way of working themselves out. Stay positive :)

Patken gave me the best deal and I had met with duet and silverfox before. I'm getting so much for exactly what I wanted to spend, and my budget is definitely not the biggest. They work with you for the deposit too!

Even lighthouse will be over budget when we add on what we want (parent albums, engagement shoot) but it's not as extreme as some others and FH and I are comfortable with it. There is a website where you can make your own albums called milkbooks.com. My friend who recently got married did this and the albums are very reasonably priced and there are always coupons. I am doing this as well to stay within my budget.
