FH is mad at me! He wasn't that excited about getting married in a church to begin with but he dosent really care where the ceremony is and now he has to make his confirmation! He made his communion and everything just where he lived growing up (upstate in a tiny town) they make you wait until youre 17 to do your confirmation, so he never did it because he moved down here when he was in 9th grade when everyone already did it down here! So now he has to do it and he keeps saying I owe him so big, but hes doing it for me so....Yay! We booked the church!!!

what religon are you ... cause i am getting married at a catholic church and FH did not make his communion or confirmation and we can still get married there!!!

Thanks, we are getting married at Our Holy Redeemer in Freeport. Well now that he said he will go I am not going to tell him otherwise because he will make us go somewhere else probably But I guess he will just go and get it over with. Thanks for the advise though!

09'er crashing your board!! I just went to my church on Monday and we talked about this. You only need to be baptized to get married in a church. They just encourage you to have your confirmation, they frown upon not having it done but they should let you still get married there.

i know how you feel though, about being excited just to get married in a church! FH and I agreed on getting married in a church but originally he wanted to 'look around' at churches....he knew he didnt want to get married in HIS church, but he wanted to look around at churches before just using mine. I was a little upset about this at first, b/c i really wanted to use my church, so then when He finally told me that he would do it, i was sooooo happy that i did not want to do anything that would make him change his mind, lol.

Yeah they're not bad. Every Monday for an hour for only 5 weeks! So its 5 hours of his time which isnt bad...I went to religious ed for an hour a week for eight years until I made my confirmation...he can get over it!
