We did it...booked Sans Souci!!

I'm so happy. We booked the Sans Souci in Sea Cliff for August 8, 2003!! Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions. I was so intimidated about the idea of planning my wedding (I'm not from Long Island and my parents live half way across the country), but I have gotten so many great suggestions from brides on this board that I am actually enjoying myself.

OK, one thing down, a million things to go....
I started looking at bands last week. What else should I do right now?

Congratulations!
I remember when we booked our reception... felt like everything was real at that point!!! That is a big accomplishment..

Next thing you should try to look into is a photographer and videographer.. they book fast.. then band/dj, and flowers.. i tried to get all my major vendors done.. while you are doing that, you should start looking for your dress.. they can take a while to come in!

Congrats!! I remember how good it felt to finally decide on a place. Good luck with the rest of your planning.

I suggest you start looking for your DJ or band and your photographer and go out and start trying on some dresses (that part is so much fun).

Good luck with the rest of your planning. And don't worry about planning from far away the girls here are so helpful. (I'm planning from Florida)
