Vinny's parents announced that they wanted to buy us a TV for Christmas. The TV Vinny and I had was 15 years old (lol) it was a 'hand me down' and had no volume!! LOL not even kidding! So we have been living with it now for almost a year and a half!! On a good day the volume would kick in So we went to PC Richard's and bought a TV today (his parents gave us a spending limit and told us to pick out whatever we wanted)... So we did
Vinny is literally on CLOUD NINE-- the TV is so beautiful and we love it. I really can't thank his parents enough- it was so nice of them to get this for us... Vinny is hooking it up as we speak. He is so excited...
It is a 40'' Sony Bravia Plasma HD-TV Flat Panel Television... It is wall mountable or can sit on this stand it came with (it has a little base)... We just love it!! What a space saver too I'll include a link to Sony's website so you can see what kind it is... We got an AMAZING deal at PC Richard's and it was the only one of that kind left!!
the guy that sold it to us had to get approval from like three different manager's... they kept coming over and asking 'where did you get THIS price from?!' and the guy would tell them that the main manager approved it and it was OK... it was marked down once, twice and then a third time- then i talked him down ANOTHER 150 bucks and he gave us a discount on a FIVE YEAR full warranty!!! so i was delighted... i nailed the salesman to the wall i'm the one that hassles for the good deals in the relationship...
it was listed on a super sale at sony.com for $1999.99. PC Richards and Best Buy had it, normally, for $2,700... then they marked it down a couple of times and finally it was at PC Richard's today for about $1,100... but our budget was $1000 so I talked him into selling it to us for $900 FLAT and then he threw in the cleaner for the screen, the HD hook-ups we needed and the warranty which is normall $250 was $100... I was OVER THE MOON with the deal we got-- $900 for a TV that retails for around $2500-$2,700!!
That's a sweet TV! Your in laws are very generous!

And now me too hahaha-- but Vinny has always been VERY hard working and deserving of it all- and he appreciates it.
I never got anything like this growing up- my parents are great and gave me everything I needed and then some but they couldn't really afford to go over the top ever- we are just different so I'm really in shock.
