We had to put down my dog this morning

I am numb. Early this morning we had to rush my dog to the emergency room because she was having difficulty breathing. My mom wanted to bring her to her regular vet, but at midnight they obviously werent open and I couldnt watch my beloved baby's suffering for much longer. Needless to say, at the emergency hospital they took xrays to see what could be causing her respiratory issues. The vet came in and said she didnt have good news at all. My dog had cancer. You could see on the xray that it was EVERYWHERE. She also told me that she would not be recovering from this, that it had spread all over her lungs, stomach and chest cavity and that was leaving her having trouble breathing.

It was almost cruel to let her live this out. The vet said that eventually she would just suffocate to death. And that it would happen soon.

So after I called home and told my family the news, we all decided that we were going to have to put her to sleep.

I cant get the images of the ordeal out of my head and I cant believe after 9 years of her being such an amazing, good dog, that she's gone. What an early morning.

So sorry for your loss... I have a dog myself and I know how much joy a pet can bring into your life. They are part of your family, Hope you are doing ok....

IM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. ITS VERY HARD TO LOOSE A PET. I LOST 2 DOGS THAT WERE 11 & 13 RIGHT BEFORE XMAS. THEY WENT WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF EACH OTHER. IT WAS VERY HARD TO DEAL WITH AS FOR THEY WERE MY DADS BUDDY'S ALSO. I CANT TAKE A MAN CRYING. IT WAS VERY UPSETTING!! SENDING PRAYERS TO YOU & YOUR PUP.

I am so incredibly sorry this is such a hard thing to go through. My baby is getting older now and I dread the day she has to leave me. It really is like mourning the death of a family member.

Im so sorry for your loss. I had to put my old pup down in January and it was the toughest decision i ever made. I felt so guilty for weeks afterwards cause i didnt stay with her. I had the vet knock her own first and then i left the room but i still had haunting visions for weeks and kept bursting out in tears at random times. Itll get easier though. I know there was nothing that could of saved her and that it was the best thing i could have done for her. The vet believed my dog also had cancer. She wouldnt walk or eat anymore and her stomach was filling with fluid.

I am SO very sorry for your loss! I received this a few months back from some friends, when I lost my pup and it really helped me! Just wanted to share it with you. I am so sorry again


Rainbow Bridge....

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm so sorry about your doggy You did the right thing. Eventually you will find peace in all this knowing that your dog is not suffering anymore. Hang in there!
