we have a tentative closing date!

We just got our tentative closing date - Monday October 5!

Please everyone keep your fingers crossed that it happens on that day. I am completely frazzled over the house buying (more than wedding planning) and just want to close already!

Plus I'm sick of having to go outside to do my laundry

We're moving to East Islip. I'm in West Babylon now and FH is in Massapequa Park. All I keep thinking about is my own washer and dryer!!!

How are you doing with your purchase? I think last I heard you were doing the inspection.

Very nice!! congrats again!

Inspection went great... nothing major... couple of minor things that are reallly minor... so all in all it went VERY well! Lawyer is coming over today so we can go over the contract and finally sign it Im excited, but a bit nervous at the same time... its alot of money and a huge decision... and considering i have to cut her the down payment check today, i feel like

The appraisal thing is going to stress me out though... the pessimistic side of me tells me its going to come in under what we're paying and the possibility of that freaks me out ... ahhh

Ours came in 'under' at first. I was completely stressed out over it. My mortgage guy kept telling me not to worry. He called me Saturday and said the appraisal was 'accepted' for the purchase price. So even though it's easier said than done, really try not to worry about it.

I know what you mean about cutting that down payment check. I thought FH was going to have a heart attack and we only gave them $20,000 when we signed. The rest of the down payment is due at closing - that's when I'm going to die. It's amazing how you can save and save and save and it takes so long and then *poof* it's gone.

Glad to hear about your inspection though. There's always going to be minor things in the report. It's very exciting. You bought in Holbrook right?

Woodgate Village is a really nice complex. My firm represented them in real estate tax proceedings a few years ago.
