ok so this is like the 3rd honeymoon thread ive made bc we just su ck at this lol
i had my heart set on tahiti but fh changed his mind and i swear i feel like august is the worst honeymoon time...theres like no cruises at that time, its hurricane season in some places, rainy season in others arghhhhhh
anyways anyone have any suggestions for me? i need some new things to look up lol
i really dont want to go to an island in the caribbean bc i want to do something a little different...something beachy, with adventure, but somewhere i wouldnt normally go (i just feel like i can go to the caribbean some other time)
i really dont want to go to europe bc i really dont want to walk around the entire time, i rather a place that has beach/ water excusions...tho i saw a cruise that went to greece, italy, but also to egypt - which i thought looked cool but not in august
fh suggested somewhere like cabo, mexico but i dont really know anything about it and again i feel like its just a regular island and i wanted something a little different...i wanted more like costa rica (which has the rain forest and beach things) but its rainy season in august
if u can give me suggestions id really appreciate it!!! thanks!!!! (oh we are looking to spend like 5-6,000)

you mentioned cruises- what about a cruise out of LA:
Carnival 7 Day MEXICAN RIVIERA from $709 * Compare Ship: Carnival Pride Departs: Los Angeles, CA Itinerary: Mexican Riviera: Los Angeles (Long Beach), CA ; Puerto Vallarta, Mexico ; Mazatlan, Mexico ; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico ; Los Angeles (Long Beach), CA 2008 Dates: Aug 3 Aug 10 Aug 17 Aug 24 Aug 31
You can also take a cruise from Florida, which is closer to NY, there are more flights to various cities of FL, and airfare is cheaper than going to Los Angeles.
she's in the peak of hurricane season so thats why I suggested a cruise out of california
This sounds awesome!! And at that price they could probably even opt for a longer cruise So far from what I've read, I think this sounds like the best option
Though I will say I've done an August caribbean cruise myself, and we had no problems. My grand parents cruise year round, and whenever there's been even the thought of a hurricaine they just re-route the ship. I don't think it's really a big deal. But the water can get choppy, and I think the west coast option sounds fantastic.
Just to throw in my 2 cents, it's probably hurricaine season there too, but I've ALWAYS wanted to go to ecuador to visit the galapagos islands... definitely different!

well some places in europe you dont have to walk around all the time, and again its up to you what you do. You dont have to go see every little thing. In spain we'll probably do more sightseeing but in monaco its smaller and wont be as much sightseeing. Its on the water, there are beaches with lots of things to do there. Just dont pick a place like london, paris, italy where youll end up doing alot of running around if thats not what you want.
HOWEVER, what about capri or the amalfi coast, theres things to see but not tons like rome or venice or anything like that. Capri and amalfi coast are on the water, has that beachy atmosphere and is different.
Or how about Ibiza, or maybe just costa del sol in spain.

I agree. I am staying in the Almafi Coast and this will hopefully be the most relaxing part of our HM. We definitely considered Spain as well for more relaxation.

Jenise I wasnt crazy about Hawaii either (Steve was really pushing it), but after comparing it to other places, it looks like it should be an amazing time bc there is so much to do....I dont know what else to recommend other than what has been mentioned, but there are so many islands and plus u guys can even go on a cruise there so maybe you would like that..and u can def find something great for that price range..
Good Luck!!!

I would vote for Hawaii but not sure if you could do it for $6,000 for 2 weeks. Plus spending money is crucial there.

I know this might not be what you're looking for, but we're going to Alaska in August. It'll give your FH the 'something different'. FM me if you want our pricing.

I know you said you're not really looking into the islands, but I thought I'd throw this out there since it's a bit different.
Definitely check out the weather and all that for august though
