We have to book and I'm worried

We want to try and book a hall in the next couple of weeks because of a few reasons
1. I work in the accounting field so I go into tax season officially at the end of Jan and have no life until April 15
2. Even tough we aren't planning on getting married until 06, we want to try and lock in a decent rate instead of waiting.
Anyway, what I'm worried about (besides not knowing a thing about booking a hall) is the money. We will be paying for everything ourselves. We've been saving for a year now and are continuing to save, but I'm scared that maybe the amount that we have saved now (it's a pretty decent amount) may not cover down payments.
Basically, what kind of money are they looking for when you book (price range)...I don't want to use it all up & then have nothing for everything else.I know this may sound stupid...I just stress easily and now that we have to start looking I'm worrying...on the finacial end.

we only went to book hall when we knew that we had enough $$ to put a deposit down. it was only $500 for hall and i think another $500 for photo/video. i'm sure you'll be fine.

When we booked, we gave a $3000 deposit.

Don't stress, they will work with you, remember that this is their business and they are trying to get you business. I am getting married in November 2006 at Westbury manor. I gave them $500 when I booked, and then another $2,500 a month and a half later. Now my next payment is not due til June of 2005. So I would not stress about that, just explain what you can afford, ad they usually work with you, if they do not work with you, then I am sure you can find a place that will, and I would explain that to them.
