Um, okay. I received two NO responses from people, who later tell me, oh yes, but they may be able to stop by sometime later that night. What the heck does that mean and how do I count this? As a yes, as a no? I've never heard of this before. I wasn't aware that there were gray areas with RSVPs, either you're coming or you're not.

The worst and most inconsiderate. You have to ff up and make sure whether they are coming or not, before you give your final count, phone those inconsiderate clods and politley tell them you need a final headcount are you coming or not? argh. i swear i think some ppl were raised on a farm.

Wow. That's a new level of annoying. I'd just count them as no. And if they mention again that they're stopping by, I'd say, 'Don't bother.'

That prob means they'll stop by to wish you well and maybe do some dancing. I don't think they'd just 'stop by' and expect to be fed so I wouldn't include them in your final count.

I'd count them as a no. If they 'stop by' to say congratulations that is great. But I wouldnt pay for a whole meal on a maybe.

I would count them as no's and secretly hope that the hall thinks they are crashers if they do 'stop by'. Are they not from LI? That would make sense, that they don't realize how things work here.

I had a couple of people say that they were only coming to the cocktail hour which I didn't care about since I was only being charged for the sit down dinner guest count.
My reaction is if they really plan on coming late (like really late) you shouldn't care but you might want to let them know that there won't be extra seats.

I would just let them know that you have to have a final number to your caterer so if they plan on coming they need to tell you so by X date. Then count them as a no. Good luck...

I would say that they can not 'stop by' the doors will be closed and it will just caus confusion
