I am not referring to anyone specifically. I think this site can be super helpful when asking for advice or trying to get opinions, but I just feel like it also makes it incredibly easy to get all wrapped up in your own wedding. I mean there have been days when I spent the ENTIRE day on here and got nothing accomplished. I just think that sometimes things need to be put into perspective.
I agree to a point, I can understand how you feel. There are days when even thinking about my wedding is overwhelming and I'm spinning my wheels just stressing, then I remember that it's one day, and that a marriage is about more then a party, it's life long commitment.
If the flowers dont come out right, or my makeup is slightly off, the world will not end.
that being said, when I feel like that; I refrain from being on LIW. I give myself a few days to get away from thinking about weddings, I don't come on this site and pout to excited brides.
I'm not at all upset, that you feel we should get over ourselves. Your feelings are valid because, well that's how you feel, but to expect others to share your feelings is just plain silly...and to post about it without expecting backlash or just being plain ignored... again silly
Give yourself a break, take some time, figure out where maybe your getting to 'wrapped up' in wedding stuff. Get focused on whats important in your own life. then rejoin us. WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO BE GETTING MARRIED, just as we are excited to be getting married
when your ready to get silly, and gush over your checks, your dress, your shoes, we are here for you

I understand where you are going with this and you are entitled to your opinion. If you feel too wrapped up in all the wedding stuff sometimes you just need to take a step back from it. I do it sometimes when I feel overwhelmed or feel like Im not getting other important things done. However I must say that I don't think its a bad thing that we are all wrapped up in or very excited about our weddings. It may not be a huge ordeal to others but for ourselves, our families and our friends it is. Its a lot of hard work and planning and takes a long time to get it all done. We are all getting married and starting a new journey and part of our lives and I think thats kind of a big deal As for the site..yes its hard to stay away for me cause I love everyone here and I love that I can share all my thoughts and excitement but when I need to get things done or I have other things on my agenda I just don't sign on until I can or I have time to. No one is making us go on this site except ourselves ya know? We have the option to either be on it or not be on it.

AMEN! That's what I love about this site... it's girls (and sometimes Black Tie Guy) who are all in the same position or at least were recently married... I always feel like I can't talk to certain friends/family because i KNOW that my wedding isn't the center of their universe... but you know what? i dont feel that type of guilt or hesitation when i'm on here. Just enjoy being surrounded by some great gals that are in the same boat as you are, and if you need to take a hiatus it's okay! We've all done it and then eventually come back
