wow I didnt know about this.. Are you not supposed to wear your ering? and why?
it's not that you're not supposed to wear it, it's that when you wear your rings, usually the wedding band is on the inside and the engagement ring is on the outside. so you put your e-ring either on your right hand or don't wear it for the ceremony and then you put it on your finger afterwards.
it's not bad luck to wear it or anything like that
thanks cause I cant imagine not wearing my ering that day of all days. Thanks for the info

Re: wearing ering at wedding?
I wore my e-ring the day of my wedding, and then right before the vows I quickly switched it to my right hand so I could get the band on, and then after we lit the unity candle and sat back down, I switched it back.

I'm a little late on this but...me too!
You can absolutely wear it on your left hand down the aisle if you have something else you want to wear on your right hand. Just switch it over at some point before you exchange rings.

i think ive seen girls wear it on the right hand and then move it to the left after the ceremony - outside of the wedding band
thats what I will be doing!!
That's what I was planning on doing until I notice my e-ring doesn't fit my right hand! I'll have to have my Mom hang on to it until after the ceremony

I iddn't knwo what to do with it either, but then I found out about the Engagement Ring Ceremony... the officiant will say this: I have here in my hand, another ring with special meaning, N.'s engagement ring. This ring was given with the promise that is fulfilled today. N., please put this ring on N.'s finger, above her wedding band, so that your marriage will allays be protected with the love that brought you here today.
So after that I'll be wearing it right wear it belongs and will stay forever
That is beautiful!

Re: wearing ering at wedding?
I left my e ring on my left hand and my husband put the band over it. After the ceremony I switched them and put the band on the bottom. I didnt know the band needs to go on a 'clean' finger. I think you can do whatever you want.
