I want to wear my grandmothers ring in my right hand. Would it be awful if I left my e-ring on and just had my wedding ring slipped on above it
i don't think awful is the right word. Personally I wouldnt do it that way, because once my wedding band is on i don't want to take it off unless i absolutely have to. also, i just think there's something exciting and great about putting the ring on a 'clean' finger.
if you want to wear your grandmother's ring on your right hand, can you attach your E-ring to your Bo-K or something like that?

wow I didnt know about this.. Are you not supposed to wear your ering? and why?
it's not that you're not supposed to wear it, it's that when you wear your rings, usually the wedding band is on the inside and the engagement ring is on the outside. so you put your e-ring either on your right hand or don't wear it for the ceremony and then you put it on your finger afterwards.
it's not bad luck to wear it or anything like that

Re: wearing ering at wedding?
uh now I got a dilemma- I have FH's promise ring on my right hand, and my e-ring on my left.. I never take either one off (unless I am sleeping)..does this mean I have to leave the promise ring behind ?

my e-ring dosent fit on any fingers on my right hand, i guess i am asymmetrical! i am going to wear it on my left hand and when he gives me the ring, he will take off my e ring and put it on another finger while he puts the band on. then he will put my ering on after the band.

I iddn't knwo what to do with it either, but then I found out about the Engagement Ring Ceremony... the officiant will say this: I have here in my hand, another ring with special meaning, N.'s engagement ring. This ring was given with the promise that is fulfilled today. N., please put this ring on N.'s finger, above her wedding band, so that your marriage will allays be protected with the love that brought you here today.
So after that I'll be wearing it right wear it belongs and will stay forever
hmmmmm sounds cool! i'll have to discuss this with fh about adding this in! thanks for posting!!

Re: wearing ering at wedding?
My e-ring will be moving to it's new permanent home - on my right ring finger... not moving it back at all to my left hand. Both rings will have their own place... I don't like the way the double ring thing looks on the same finger, especially since I have baguets on my e-ring and I'll have diamonds on my band - looks tacky/gaudy... even though it's most popular. Also if I try to close my hand - I can't get that finger down b/c my ring is too high up too close to my knuckle.

Since we had a Jewish wedding, it worked out well. In a Jewish wedding, the ring is put on your right index finger. Then, later in the ceremony, the rabbi said something about how we might want to stop and switch hands and fingers, and I did. So I had my engagement ring on the entire time, and I was able to wear my grandmother's pearl ring on my other hand, instead of the engagement ring. If you look on the bottom, you can see my engagement ring (which is blue.)
I thought in a Jewish wedding you weren't alllowed/supposed to wear ANY semi-precious stones which would obviously include an e-ring?

Thanks for this topic. I've never thought about it. I guess I'll be wearing my e-ring on my right hand.

I was just going to say the same thing!!! My right knuckles are a lot bigger. I am not leaving my ering at home though, so I guess I will just have to wear it where it usually is - or else let my MOH wear it till after the church
