Wedding after parties...
For those of you having these, where are you having them? We want to have one , but don't have a clue where.

Re: Wedding after parties...
I wanted one, which is why the Harrison House and Carlyle seemed perfect but I can't guarantee 200 people on a Saturday night. I think we might move the party to our hotel where we blocked rooms. On Saturday nights, the hotel bar (very cool, NYC type lounge) has a DJ and dancing, so that could be a lot of fun.

Re: Wedding after parties...
We want to have one too. We were thinking of having it back at my parents house, but we live in there basement and do not want to sleep there that night. We might just book some rooms at a local hotel with a bar or go into the city. I want to do something though, the wedding is over Sat. at 630 and we are leaving for HM on Mon.

Re: Wedding after parties...
We blocked rooms at the Marriot, and are all going back to the bar in the hotel afterwards.

we are having one- in the upstairs cigar lounge at the Carltun..You can either rent out the bar at the hotel everyone is staying at.. Or rent a room, get a DJ, and some late night snacks, and a bar.

Re: Wedding after parties...
We are doing activities the whole weekend so this seemed like a natural part -- for those into it, and for the most part, with a couple of exceptions, it is folks around our age, we will be trekking back to the hotel where we are planning to have a smaller venue set up.

Re: Wedding after parties...
you can srill rent out a meeting/event room at a hotel that is close by.. It is sorta a mini party.. Also, look to bars/restaurants in the area that have private spaces..If it is that few people though, I would just head out to a bar-- maybe make a res a head of time so you have your own area.

Re: Wedding after parties...
We are still in the process of 'negotiations' but should be completed with our plans this week. Basically we are having a day wedding and figure it would be great to have a party afterwards but we don't want people to drink and drive. So we are arranging to have a bus pick everyone up at the hotel in the morning and back when the wedding is over where we have rented a meeting room. They are serving beer and wine and pizza later.

Re: Wedding after parties...
We are all adults here so I will say that I will be having a 'private party' with my new hubby in our apartment ALONE

Re: Wedding after parties...
We are booking a separate room at Danfords to serve as a hospitality suite for the after party. Any guests staying overnight at Danfords will be welcome to join us. (We have booked a bus for the rest who live in Queens and thereabouts, so they will be taking that back). We are going to keep it pretty casual and stock it with beer, wine etc.
I like that pizza idea too!

Re: Wedding after parties...
My parents have started to plan something. Either at their house, the hotel where we're blocking rooms (if they ever send me the letter, that is) or a restaurant near my parents' house. My preference is at their house. My parents assumed that FH and I wouldn't be at the after party and didn't think about inviting the BP or my FILs, until I let them know that FH and I are not missing any of the fun! My father assumed we'd leave for the HM straight from the reception -- certainly not two days later, like we're planning.
