Wedding After Party

Are you ladies having an after party? Are you going to pay to keep the bar open at the hotel you are staying at or go somewhere else?

FH has been talking about this alot recently so I am looking into it. I am not sure I really want an after party though, I feel like I am going to be SO exhausted and will just want to spend the time after with my new husband. I know we should def. live it up and party but at the same time it is going to be almost 1am by the time we get to the hotel so i am not sure how many ppl will stick around to party with us. Anyhow just wondering what everyone else is planning?

We were told that if you give the bartender some extra $ he will keep the bar open as long as ppl are buying drinks, so we will go to the hotel bar after and hang out. We have the whole hm to celebrate being husband and wife, i feel like i will want the after party because i won't want the night to end!

have u spoken with ur RH? a lot of them have an afterparty thing, or will jst charge a few dollars per had and kee the bar open for an extra hour.

We are doing an afterhours for an least an hour and a half at the place with a dj included (since we had a band during the party!)

we are having an after party ... honestly I didnt wan to do one at all but FH insisted! We ended up renting the bar at the Inn at Great Neck for the after party and since we are having a room block there we actually got alot of yeses for the after party so I guess it kind of worked out but its still pricey... we had to pay for the bar plus they charged us for the bartender and we had to pay 300 for an open bar (i dont know why that is their policy) and anything after 300 is cash bar

edt to add: our wedding ends at 12:30 but we have the bar from 11-3:30am, so people can go straight from the wedding or leave early and go drink

we talked about this A LOT that we wanted to do this. my sister had everyone come hang at the Bar at the East Wind - we stayed in the rooms there after the wedding.

it was fun, but we were there for like 10 minutes!! haha.. its a LONG day!

after our wedding some of the OOT guests were at the bar at the hotel but we were EXHAUSTED!!!!

We did we held the bar in the hotel till 3 am. Let me just say it was sort of a waste. DH and I were so exhausted and we felt obligated to stay down there with bp and friends, after an hour everyone wanted to go to bed.

My wedding ends at 1:00 am and we are getting a party bus from 1- 4:00 am we got a great deal - I figured what the hell you only do it once - and yes I will be wearing my dress no matter where we go

We are meeting up with everyone at the hotel bar where we blocked rooms. The wedding is over at 11pm so it will be late. FH thinks we are 'partying it up' until 4am. Ha ha. He will probably be asleep at the bar by 1 am!
