I always wanted a DJ as well but FH wants a band so we booked HOT PURSUIT. I know they are going to be great.

I think if you are on a budget and need to save a DJ would be just as nice. Again it's just personal perference.

Initially, we were going to have a band but enough money is being spent as is and at this point, I am going with a DJ because of advice I had on bands.

FH LOVES live music and wanted a band, as does my dad, and my parents are paying so there you go. I originally wanted a DJ b/c I like hearing the original artists, but we are using a band FH's family has used for other events so we know they're good....they are also coming with a DJ too, so really we will have both. It was DEFINITELY more expensive, but since we already knew them they kind of gave us a deal, cheaper than most wedding bands on LI....I think it will be worth it!

I was so set on a band, I have no idea why but i just reallly wanted one, we went with Skyline ( i actually found them when i went to a showcase to find a dj, when DH told me a band wasn't going to be in our budget ) And I met Maureen, she was amazing as was the band. They by far exceeded everything we ever expected before and during our wedding. They were such a pleasure to work with, and they were our Favorite vendor!!

if you can afford a good one, like Paris, you will be happier than with a DJ. Personally I loved them at my friend's wedding but I can't afford them. i wish I could have them though.

that is who im using
they are great

arent they amazing!!! very vesatile. they did everything from usher to rascal flatts, flawlessly!!

everyone is SO different and has differing opinions on what they like. You can get a group package that has a band and a DJ. Make sure it is a house package though, or all those vendor meals add up!

We're going with Fusion DL - its a mixture of a band and DJ. The original artist sings the song, and various elements of the music are cut while a live sax, percussionist, and trumpet play. I thought it was priced in between a band and a DJ, so that you'd get the best of both worlds. I've heard good things...

A word of advise a good DJ is NOT cheaper than a band.Things have changed. TRUST ME from our experience. No regrets It is all about your preference.

I have a band for our wedding because we liked the feel of live music over a DJ. There are pros/cons for each, but I think when there is a band, it elevated the mood of the reception, esp if you have singers that get the crowd involved.

Personally IMO I think DJs can sometimes be on the cheesy side. I have yet to attend a wedding where I loved a DJ.

IMHO i think i just want a dj -- i however have heard an amazing band-- i forgot what they were called but they sounded just like the original songs they sang-- but personally i just want a dj, i am greek & tradition is to have a band but i dont want one id rather just make cds for the dj

we're having a band and a dj. the dj plays when the band is on break or if we have a song that has to sound EXACTLY like the original...he'll play the original.

GREAT price too. Check out Good Clean Fun

I think it is a personal preference. I prefer a band for weddings, bc you can have a dj at any other party you throw during your life... When else will you be able to hire a band???

DH and I both new we really wanted a band. We have been to a bunch of weddings with both DJ's and bands and just preferred a band. I agree with the person who said that a really good DJ is nearly as expensive as as many bands. We used Soul Revival and loved them!! Good luck!!

i think a band makes a big difference at a wedding. I hope my band makes the wedding amazing. CLM recommended them but i havent heard any other reviews!! Sound Image Band?? Anyone?

I'm having Sound Image. We were having the band or dj debate and fell in love with Sound Image. I just feel like this is the only time in my life I will have live music so we went for it.

it depends on your preference to how real you want each song to sound, and if you like the real bands... good ones are Heart and Soul, Hank Lane, and a new one that I heard last week which were AMAXINg was Arcadia.... i think it adds a more personal feeling to the night
