what are you trying to keep your budget at? fh & i are trying to keep it under 25k. which is possible thanks to the good people at smcc. what is more important to you? a small wedding for only a small amount of $$?? or do you have to have the whole shebang?

How is everyone keeping to budgets of $30K???
I am having such a hard time keeping to $40K. I think it is going to be more like $45K - $50K. We are having 180 people.
Is everyone who has a $30K or less budget having a smaller wedding (number wise)???

we are able to keep our budget by choosing a hall that doesn't break the bank. our guest list is at about 170 and we will probably wind up with about 150.

Yeah, we fell in love with our venue - on the pricey side. Even on a Friday night, it is going to cost us more than $25K...

WOW! i beat all of you. Im having a guest of 100-110 and my budget is 10k.
i know how to shop around for my stuff and will not pay for something so over priced. and so far everything is coming out good. im a bargain shop around for price girl. We are not doing the whole shabang but it is pretty big and the things we wanted and organized people don't believe what or how we figured out some stuff. im happy with decisions we have made and believe my FH is the same way we SAVE!

Congrats on being so frugal. Where are you having your reception for under 10k with everything?

Oh the valets!! That little cost (not too little..) drives me nuts! After all the money we throw their way, they can't pay for valet?! UHHH!
And budget... I forgot what that looks like.. I'm trying to keep it at 40K.... FH, Mr. Spend-a-lot, doesn't want to limit us from throwing a fabulous party... trying to get him slowly to understand
But this will also be the first party that is for him.. so I guess thats why he wants to go all out!
