Wedding Budgets

So how many of you have prepared a weddign budget for all from e-party to honeymoon?

More importantly are you sticking to it? Why or why not.

We planned a budget right after we got engaged and I can honestly say w/o cuttign anywhere as of yet we're right on track. havign some budgetary guidelines has helped.

We are not including HM in our budgets but the wedding weekend might end up having us go over budget.

you have a great budget- ours was around $22,000 and that did not include my dress and gifts for bridal party, extra stuff and honeymoon. Although we've saved for honeymoon separately and have it paid for.

And my incentive (as per FH) is that for every $1k I go over I lose a years vacation. The damages exceed the bonus in my opinion and thus I am keeping to budget .

We are also on a budget. I have an excel sheet with everything we spent, and how much everything costs us. We right down everything we are spending. This seems to help us alot.

We have a pseudo budget for now and for the most part we are sticking with it. My cousin's DH told the FH that he basically has to be the budget police and make sure that I don't go overboard lol.

Ugh...I have NO budget! Not that I can spend any amount of money, but I just don't have a set budget. Its so bad. Every time we book a vendor FH says...did we stay in budget? and I am like...uhhh sure honey!

we do the same. it really helps! we dont really have a strict budget, but we are making sure that the prices we are getting from vendors are reasonable and affordable for us.

i am really hoping to stay within the $20K budget that we have set. I really hope that will include the honeymoon but from the estimates that I am getting, I am not sure that is going to happen.

I didn't really create a budget, I just kind of told myself that I want to get the best possible deal on all of my vendors

my budget is 15,000

I bet this isn't the best way - but i've been budgeting by vendor - i look to see what the average price is for the things i like... and then i come up with my budget - for example i went to a whole bunch of photographers and then decided i want to stay under 6K... and i did! for music, under 2K

Re: Wedding Budgets

I had a tentative budget of 15K, and we are right on target for that (not including HM, because we are going to 2 locations in Asia for 2 weeks, so that is sort of pricy). It might go a bit over because I underestimated how much photography will cost, and I am also considering getting a videographer. I am also not including my dress or hair/makeup in that budget because I am just cutting back a bit on what I spend yearly on clothes and stuff to cover it. However, my bonus this past year was actually about twice what I thought it would be, so we are being a bit more flexible with the budget anyway!

We have a budget but after we booked a band instead of a DJ that kinda went out the window. I'm really bad at sticking to a budget so now I'm doing my research and just trying to make sure that all our vendors are reasonable.

Re: Wedding Budgets

We originally set our budget really low b/c we didn't know what kind of prices to expect. After we got various price quotes from vendors, we made our budget based on that so that it would be more realistic.. We're probably spending about 10K more than we thought we would but in terms of being on budget with the one we drafted after we got price quotes, we're pretty on target.

Re: Wedding Budgets

We started out with NO budget because i had no idea how much things would cost. Then after we booked our RH we thought okay we'll set the budget to $30K but after going to see vendors we realized OMG this is going to cost an arm and a leg!!!! Right now the budget is set to $40K (including honeymoon). We are under as of now but I still hvnt booked Limo or DJ and i TRY to get the best deals but I just keep adding things on! I cant help it. its like i WANT everything i see!!!!! I'm praying to God that we can make it. I may even have to return my car (which the insurance company is STILLLLLL fixing)!!! I'll make any sacrifice possible to have My FABULOUS Wedding!
