So we had to cancel our wedding with 3 months to go, because FH was just diagnosed with cancer. He starts chemo on Wednesday. He has had a mass in his right calf for years that he never had checked out because he thought it was just an injury from playing sports. Over the past 6 months or so it began annoying him a little bit and it appeared to have grown. So he finally went to the doctor a few weeks ago and after lots of tests and a biopsy they came back with the bad news. After a few months of chemo, he will have surgery to remove the tumor and then have radiation. So, the past week I’ve been on the phone and sending emails to all my vendors to cancel. Almost all of my vendors have been great and have refunded the deposits, even though according to the contracts none of them had to. My catering hall, Land’s End, was sooo nice and they refunded us every penny. I will post something separately on LIW so that everyone knows how wonderful Land’s End and Lovin Oven have been. I am having an issue with one of my vendors. I have been trying to talk to the owner for 5 days and he refuses to take my calls and return my calls. If I do not hear from him by tomorrow, I will be posting a message about him and the name of his so-called professional business that is also a vendor on LIW. This guy has me so upset and angry!! I’m sure that FH will be fine, it will just be a crappy year for him. Everyone keeps asking us what we are going to do about a future wedding and we obviously can’t plan anything right now, but I think that we both agree that we don’t want to plan a wedding all over again! We will most likely have a small civil ceremony some time soon and then when he’s all better we will go on a huge vacation with family and friends.

Hi Jackie...I am so sorry to hear the news. You and your fiance are in my prayers. My fiance has also been undergoing chemo for the past 5 months and I definitely understand the difficult time you are going through. Remember that being 'the rock' is a lot harder than people think. Stay strong - you will be such an amazing support system for him and you will become closer and stronger each day that passes. Treasure each moment you spend together, even on the tough days, and if you ever need anything FM me!
