Wedding Channel/Macys Registry is awful!
I'm so pissed, I'm trying update my registry for about 2 weeks & combine stores that I have registered with. That site totally s@%&s! I've tried calling their customer service # & I can not get a friggin human on the phone. Tomorrow I'm off to Macy's to freak-my shower is any day & I need to update! 56 days & I'm turning into Bridezilla!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Wedding Channel/Macys Registry is awful!
In my opinion, Macy's and especially their customers service has gone downhill. I was planning on registering there, but lately, everytime I go to the store to either buy or return something, they give me a problem. The one in Massapequa is totally screwed up.
I'm planning on registering at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Fortunoff's.

Unfortunately, I have been hearing this for a while, and that is why I didn't register there either. Good luck working it all out!

Re: Wedding Channel/Macys Registry is awful!
Karen, I did the same thing(BBB and FRTNFF)I orig. registered at macy's, and all was good UNTIL I looked on line and found the price differences!!!
The same china was 119 in the store, 149 when looked at on my registry, and 189 when looked at directly from the web site!!
I am all about registering for something where the price is the best, and that inconsistancy really made me mad.
I took all of our things off of macys and put them on BB&Beyond, and Fortunoffs....surprisingly enough, fortunoffs prices really are excellent!!

Re: Wedding Channel/Macys Registry is awful!
I was thinking about registering at Crate & Barrels and Macys. Now I'm rethinking the whole Macys thing. . . .Question: Are Fortunoffs available all over, or just the East Coast?

If you consider on-line all over, than yes.

Online should be good, I'm so afraid of the Macy's horror stories.

Re: Wedding Channel/Macys Registry is awful!
I have not had any problems with Macys, but there is a big difference in customer service depending on which one you go to. The Macy's in Smithaven mall is pretty lousy, At Walt Whitman I found there was no one available to anser questions in housewares, but at Roosevelt Field they were excellent. It is also better to go during the week if you can- it gets really busy on the weekends. But I will agree about the online service- it ***** and what they will tell you at the store is that online is run by wedding channel and they cannot guarantee the quality of their service.

Re: Wedding Channel/Macys Registry is awful!
I chose Macys, Bloomingdales & Kohls-I know its a strange combo but I have LOTS of elderly Aunts on Long Island(out east) that would be very inconvienced to have to get to Fortunoff, it's just not possible for them anymore. Internet ordering is out of the question for them & I know they want to shop off a registry. So I figured I'd chose Kohls & Macys(leave it to me to try & make it easier for everyone else)I have relatives in Fla that shop at Bloomies, there's where I came up w/my choices.I've gotten a few gifts from Fla already & there's stuff missing off my Bloomies reg, so I'm not too worried about that but I'm really regretting Macys-I agree w/the differences in the stores, I'd never go to Massapequa for anything. In general I'm just frustrated, I just wish I could update like they said I would be able to. Thanks for letting me vent

Re: Wedding Channel/Macys Registry is awful!
When we were registering we were told to register at Macy's because everyone goes there. We wondered around the store and could not find anything we really wanted. We ended up putting like pots, cake pans and luggage on it. It was a struggle for us to find things we liked. We did register at Williams-Sonoma and Fortunoff's though which we both loved.

Re: Wedding Channel/Macys Registry is awful!
I have had a pretty good experience with Macy's. We went to the one in Smithhaven mall. We got almost everything we registered for and they do have a good selection. The one in the Roosevelt field mall is nicer though. We picked Macy's because a lot of people have that store nearby and it is known for its bridal registry. We did not use the online site that much, just to view the registry. We also registered at Bed bath & beyond. They are pretty good too except things that we registered for would keep dropping off the registry because they were not in stock anymore. It got annoying. We had registered for a shower curtain and towels and it wasn't on our registry anymore but I we saw the shower curtain sitting in the store.

Re: Wedding Channel/Macys Registry is awful!
I just registered at Macy's last week and have had no problems so far. The only thing I really don't like is that they don't have much of a selection on products to add to your registry via the site. The site is a little tedious going back and forth between pages when you add an item but they need to work on that side of the programming as well. One of the main reasons I chose Macys b/c they are almost everywhere in the country and for those that can't and won't access the internet it makes it so much easier. And although ya the customer service is really crappy, I like the store. I did go to the one in Roosevelt Field to purchase a shower gift and they were really nice to me and walked me around and so forth. Even the one in Herald Sq. (where I registered-bad idea-they had the ONE DAY SALE that day) I noticed the consultants telling the shoppers what floors the items were on, they took the registry list and literally wrote on it saying this is on this floor... if you need any help making a decision come by and one of us will help you...And BTW to clear up a concern on Macy's return policy: first off they give you a sheet explaining their policy. It specifically says what you need in order to receive the price credit that was paid for the item. If Aunt jane forgets to get you a gift receipt, you the bride can print out a registry journal which says: Aunt Jane bought the iron for $50. The registry journal contains everything that was purchased, by whom and for what amt. So don't worry on getting stiffed. ONly when someone buys a gift and it was not scanned off of your registry, will Macys not give you the credit for the paid for amount. And that I think is fair.
