Hi ladies So I have been engaged for almost a year- and nearing my September 2010 wedding- and I STILL have not decided on COLORS!
I have been going back and forth for MONTHS. I am torn between blue and brown- or black and silver. Here's the thing: I looove the brown and blue color combo- but I feel like its not very 'wedding'-ish, and is way too trendy. For example, I see it on comforters in Target, on little kid's party invitations, etc. It just seems like the blue/brown might be over and played out, you know? I am looking at a cornflower/light blue and chocolate brown, and the bm dresses would be blue with brown accents.
Then the OTHER choice: Black. Love that too. Classic, timeless,flattering for all figures, etc. But I feel like that TOO has been done, done, done. Is black too plain, too boring?
I know I can't possibly chooses a color combo that has never been done before, obviously. =) But I am so torn on this color thing- any input would be GREATLY appreciated.
BTW, my wedding is in September so I feel either color combo would work.

What if you did black as a main color and the light blue as an accent color? You get a little from both color combos

I think brown and blue would be great! You can pull in some Fall colors with the brown and use the blue as an accent! I love this and had this in mind if we had chosen a fall wedding date. I know what you mean about blue/brown being everywhere, but its because they go together so great! Black and silver is also fun and classy - either way you can't go wrong, but IMO i love the blue/brown! HTH

in 10 years when u look back at your photos and it isn't trendy anymore -will you still love the brown and blue?
if yes, DO IT!

Black - and for the exact reasons you already know -- its timeless, classic, you can add any color as an accent, your flowers will totally pop against the black.
I am having a black and white wedding, and when I told my BMs I wanted them to wear black they were ECSTATIC!

i love black and silver, but to me it seems like more of winter colors...i like the blue and brown for september

I was thinking the same thing, throw blue in as an accent color
Hi- I didnt have any colors for my wedding and the way i finally found it - When i found the BM dresses.. My sis tried it on- and we didnt change a thing about it.. so we stayed in the brown/neutral family
See if you fall in love with a BM dress..and then take it from there... HTH

I agree that the brown with the lighter color accent is overdone. I wanted to do that 3 years ago, but by now I feel like it's very trendy and what everyone is doing. Although black is popular too, I feel like that's more timeless. It would look awesome if you paired black with a bright turquoise. Imagine menus with a black/white paisley or floral design with turquoise trimming!
