Wedding Coordinator, yay or nay?

Original post by dgirl

I keep watching the days go by and it doesn't seem like I am making enough progress on our wedding...My fiance and I own a business together and it takes up ALOT of our time, but I am really looking forward to planning the wedding!

Is anyone using a wedding coordinator? I am starting to think that I need some help. I know pretty much what I want so its not the idea part, but the vendor recommendations, and just feeling good about my choices, and also the comparison shopping, sticking to a timeline...

Is that what they do? Has anyone found it helpful or not helpful? I signed in here today and it says I have 200 days until the wedding and that kind of freaked me out! So far I have the hall, officiants, my dress, and a really expensive proposal for flowers...

My budget would allow about 2-3,000 for this. Is that in the ballpark?

Thanks everyone for any help!

I would definately say YAY!!!
I am definately using one, I love reading the reviews on here of the brides that had one, and its so intersting to see the smallest to the biggest problems handled by the DOC in their reviews.

A price for a DOC runs from $700-$800 dollars which gives you soooo much for your money, unlimited emails, phone calls, 2 face to face meetings, she comes to the rehersal dinner, and then your wedding day. In the grand scheme of weddings which these days can cost $20,000 dollars to $100,000 dollars. $700 bucks for piece of mind seems like money well spent!! JMO

I forgot to add, if you are looking for more than a DOC their wedding planning services can run, 1500-3000 dollars, and they can customize a package to fit anyones budget!!!

I don't think you need a planner, I was able to work two jobs, seven days a week for 7 months leading up to our wedding and was still able to plan without one, but did I wish I had one? HELL YES. If you can afford to squeeze that cost in, it makes life much easier.

Check out Exquisite Affairs Productions, they are a vendor here.

I dont think someone needs a wedding planner. you can definitely do things yourself.

I say Yay if you can afford one. Yeah you can do it yourself but its less stress and pressure when you have help.

I didnt have one.. but if I could atleast have afford a DOC I would have gotten one.
