Not what the magazines and websites the average cost for a NY wedding should be. Lol. I would say an easy $50,000 + would be average nowadays. It really all depends on how big you go.

i'm not sure what the 'average' is but I can tell you that I am struggling to keep it at $55,000. Everything on LI is so damn expensive!

We just got major reality check this week with budgeting... we are over 70K... and we didnt pick 'over the top' vendors/location ect... we picked middle prices for almost all vendors. And were have 160 people

wow!! I am trying to keep it under $15,000... so far,is good. I am trying not to stress about it. Just going with the flow. If it's to expensive for me to get it, then i'll find other options. no biggie.

We are looking at 50-60K and we aren't even choosing the expensive vendors. This is for like 275 people.
Insane!

I tried really hard to stay around 50K, but have gone over so far by about 6k. We expect around 200 people for our wedding. And this doesnt include our honeymoon which is about 10k.
I haven't been the type of bride that gets random stuff or goes top of the line. I've actually gone cheap on a lot of things. I cant imagine if i didn't! I refuse to tell FH the real numbers because he would flip!
Our goal was so stay under 50K since we're paying for it ourselves but it's really hard. NY (specifically LI) is SO expensive. We will probably clock in between 48K-53K

I think we'll be around 30k and that's for about 130. We've done a lot of negotiating! Haha

Our goal is to stay at 55k, but its looking like thats a fantasy number. We're prob looking at least an extra 4 to 5 thousand tacked on, but I chalk that up to poor planning on our part. Fh and I didn't shop around as much as we should. :( We also have about 170 coming

We are really trying to stay at 150'people. So far we are ranging at just about 40k. We've really tried budgeting and negotiating whenever possible.

This doesn't include the honeymoon. That's like another 10k. Oy! It's better off if I don't think about it, lol!

2016-er crashing! You ladies numbers are freaking me out right now! Lol we had originally budgeted 30K, which is all on us. But recently FH parents have offered to put $50 a week into an account for us from now until the wedding which will be around 7K. I was hoping that would take away from the burden of our budget but now I'm thinking it'll just add to the budget lol. I guess we shall see when we start looking at venues which is obviously the most expensive part! We're trying hard to keep it at 150 people.
