wedding date??

why are you getting married on your wedding date? (it really does just sound funny....i have reworded the sentence 3x's)
was it the month you always wanted? cheapest price? etc..??

just wondering why everyone chose to get married when they did...

november was the only month me & fh couldn't find anything wrong with. plus we have quite a few weddings in 2006 so we had to be conscious of them as well when deciding.

I don't really have a reason. I knew I wanted late spring. FH really wanted June, cause it's not usually that hot.

Well you're getting married on 11/11...time to make a wish...hope it lasts a lifetime!

We originally picked June 10th, then it was June 30th, and then September 29. However, when we were ready to book September 29th at the WM that date was not available and so therefore, we were offered an even better date which is 9/1...Labor Day weekend Friday.

fh loved the date!! he said this way he will NEVER forget our anniversary. he also tried to convince me to wait until 2011 - this way it would be 11/11/11. i am so glad i am a girl- i will never understand how the other 1/2 thinks....

Re: wedding date??

We wanted a warm weather month (we HATE cold weather) and we knew a holiday weekend would probably work best because more than half of our guests are OOT. When July 2 was available at the place we wanted, we jumped at it!

I wanted early summer. Actually I had my heart set on 7/15 - but it was already booked, so 7/8 it is. The last weekend of June is my cousin's graduation, and the first weekend of July is 4th of July weekend, so this was pretty much it!

It is actually also my parent's anniversary - which I guess is nice.

Re: wedding date??

I wanted June on a Saturday night in the spring, before it got too hot. So that left us with 3 dates to choose from; the 3rd, 10th, and 17th. So I actually sat down one night with my 2-year calendar and counted out when I'm supposed to get my period that month. I didn't want it the week before and certainly not on our HM, so that brought us to the 10th. Besides, I love how 6/10/06 looks!!

FH and I both love the Fall, our favorite season.

Also, we got engaged on Valentine's Day weekend and pretty much agreed right then and there that we wanted to be married by the end of the year, so it worked out well.

We originally were going to book on 10/30, but we have a LOT of OOT guests and some of the feedback we got was that they wanted to be home on Halloween to take their kids trick or treating. So we picked the following Sunday night. No biggie.

Re: wedding date??

April 15, that is the day that my FH's grandparents were married and they died when FH was very young so he did not get to know them. we thought it was a nice way to honor them. Oh yeah and because I am a CPA, I fgured might as well get married on tax day

It just so happens that April 15th falls on a Saturday, like it was meant to be

Re: wedding date??

Both of our parents have September anniversaries so that played a factor. Didn't want labor day and still wanted it to be as warm as possible. Definitely wanted a Sat. That's how we ended up with the first Saturday in September that is not on Labor day weekend...

Re: wedding date??

We decided on November because it's the only month where we have no birthdays or anniversaries. We wanted to be unique! Plus, it's less expensive!

I always wanted a winter wonderland theme wedding. I thought December 2 sounded good.

Re: wedding date??

I always wanted a fall wedding, and with the Jewish holidays in October this year, November worked out the best.

Re: wedding date??

We originally wanted March but decided it would still be too cold. We decided for the end of the month to be closer to May without being in May because alot of my cousins were married in May. We wanted something with a 3 in it because we met on 3/3 we became exclusive on the 3/31 and they were both Sundays so 4/30/06 which is a Sunday was perfect all around. I know pretty cheesy but hey I can't help it!!!!

Re: wedding date??

Let's see, b/c it is holiday weekend and we could use less vacation days for our HM. It's Sat 4th of July weekend and the 4th falls on a Tues so most people have off Mon & Tues...myself included. This way it is also easier for Out of Town Guests, and more convenient, they don't have to really take much time off either.
