I had always said I wanted a fall wedding. So when we were looking at reception halls we were asking about October dates, only one reception hall (NRC, where our wedding is) had one october date available and that was Halloween. So she gave us a choice of 10/31 or 11/7..one week apart, yet it was like a $20 difference pp. So we opted for 11/7..besides I hateeeeeeee halloween lol
Hey .. you're my date twin!! WOO HOO! i thought i was the only one with that date!!!! isn't it amazing how one week makes such a price difference.. i couldn't believe it when we started looking at dates!!!

Re: wedding date
Well originally wanted the friday after thanksgiving- but then picked a rh that overlooks the beach- so we wanted to be able to take pictures there and it not be too cold- so we went with columbus day weekend and chose a sunday- we have a lot of out of town family- so it was important to us that they be able to make it and it was easier for almost all of them that weekend.

Re: wedding date
We really wanted the fall folliage so we knew it was gonna be some time in early October. 10-7 just worked for us....and I liked the 7 is a lucky number....

Re: wedding date
at first we wanted october but then my sister booked her hall for october.
then we decided around st. pat's would be nice...and when we went to the halls we realized if we wanted march 2008 we could only do the first weekend or the last weekend because the middle two weekends are Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.
We picked the last weekend hoping that we would have a better shot of nice weather.

Re: wedding date
We both wanted a summer wedding. First we said june but alot of graduations are in june And my JBM will be graduating Junior high school then so it would conflict with that. So we went with july.

Re: wedding date
At first I wanted November but then we both thought it would be nice to have a spring wedding and then picked May. The date popped in my head and I was set on it. None of the halls we looked at before the Watermill had any dates in May and once I saw the place and heard he had 3 weekends open in May I knew it was meant to be..

eeny meeny miny moe
There was really no rhyme or reason. I never wanted a summer wedding. I wanted November this 07 he wanted Nov 08. We compromised and came in the middle. Unfortunately the weather in March is pot luck, but I'm thinking positive :)

Re: wedding date
I knew I wanted a fall wedding so I waited until the leaves turned just right and said ok this weekend. Turned out to be the last weekend in October.

Re: wedding date
We switched from the sat. night to a sun. night and saved $$$ plus my MOH will be in nursing school with clinicals on saturday so it's easier for her to make it to the wedding and pictures.

Re: wedding date
We knew we wanted summer bc FH is a teacher and we like warm weather. Then we realized that July 3rd was a thursday and loved it!!! Thursdays are cheaper, everyone has off the next day/long weekend, and we will always have off on our anniversary or the next day. I thought that was kinda cool.

Re: wedding date
I wanted May because I love the weather in May. Ideally I would love it to be in the 70's and partly cloudy, although not sure if partly cloudy is good for pics, forget even partly cloudy i would even like cloudy. I hate when its too sunny and the sun is blazing on you, its too hot, makes you squint and it tires you out. When I am in the sun all day im just beat and have no energy.
Originally our date was May 24 or 25th, memorial day weekend then went a week later and changed our minds...We asked what other dates in May they had left, we looked at our choices and loved May 17.

Re: wedding date
very similiar to your reasons, i had my heart set on beginning of sept, bc i still wanted the warmth (even though my back up idea was a winter wedding if it was cheaper at the rh i had my ♥ set on) and then i found out that wasn't any cheaper but friday of course was over saturday and the thrifty girl i am chose that friday...& all things happen for a reason, I am getting married on my late grandmother's birthday~

Re: wedding date
we wanted a saturday night in may but we didn't know if we could afford it. we considered a friday night. then i realized memorial day is in may and is a monday and most people have off. so the night before being a sunday will be cheaper but is like a saturday night wedding.
not to mention, FH said 5/25 is an easy date to remember...so he'll never forget our anniversary!
