im gunna have to go against everyone else and say do what you want! you know youre graduating in may, and you dont want a summer wedding.. maybe it wouldnt be so bad to have the wedding in early spring. it might actually make getting a job easier b/c you wont be asking for a lot of time off right away for the honeymoon. maybe have an april wedding.. give yourself time to study for all the finals.. go on your honeymoon after you graduate and then look for a job. that might work out better for you? in the end you have to do with what you think will work out best and make you the happiest.

Im currently in nursing school (LPN to RN) in the city and with the stress of that I know I wouldnt handle planning a wedding. We decided to wait until I graduate. I know myself very well and am easily distracted so wedding planning would become my priority and not school so we are waiting. Plus with school in the city I am only able to work three days which basically lets me pay my bills and thats it so I cant save for the wedding, but when Im done i'll be making some bank so i'll be able to save some major cash. U might only be taking your boards in sept if you graduated in may. Or at least thats when two of the people I work with ended up with...graduating in may boards early sept. Just my thoughts on the subject, hope it helps.
wow here in NC it's usually only a month or two after people graduate where they can sign up for the boards..so it must be different. I expect to have a job by August at the latest and then in November i get to pay my freakin' student loans back..lol.

After there is too much time you have to invest to graduate to deal with the stress of the wedding!

I vote wait till you graduate and finish your boards. It's going to be stressful enough as it is preparing for finals and adding a wedding on top of it.
As long as you are honest with a potential employer that you are getting married and going on a honeymoon, you shouldn't have a problem with it.
I once went on an interview and when they asked me when I could start I told them right away, but I had a vacation already planned and paid for. The only glitch was that I didn't get paid for the week, which was fine.

i had a similar situation at the company in which i started my career. FH and I were going on a cruise two weeks after my hire date. I didn't get paid for the time off, but the company paid me on an hourly basis until I was back from vaca, at which time i became a full time salaried employee. i don't think an employer will have a problem with hiring you before the honeymoon!

Re: Wedding date
idk how it is w/ nursing, but i remember the job hunt taking up a lot of my time and causing a whole lot more stress than wedding planning has. i'd say do the wedding while your in school and you have the flexibility of a class schedule instead of a job.
