Wedding date?

How did you and FH pick your wedding date?

Mine is a long story..

At first I always wanted a Christmas wedding but then I would have to do the Christmas theme cause it’s my fave holiday and I really want a Cinderella wedding so I thought fall would be great. Nov is my brother so that was a no cause his wife is weird like that. Oct would not work as I work for an accountant and we have tax extensions they would kill me. Sept back to school and too many oot to take off so FH actually came up with our date he said we should just do it on our anniversary which is 8/19 but it’s a thurs so we picked 8/20.

Can’t wait to hear everyone else’s

we wanted march or april to save on cost and bc i hate summer bugs and FH does not like too much heat.

found out lent in 2010 goes from the wknd after v-day to april 4. we didnt want a winter wedding and didnt want the week after easter either. so it was either 17, 24, 30. when i told my mom the dates, she reminded me that the 24th was my grandparents anniversary

i was happy to have a date that had extra special significance :)

well fh's busy season is the summer, so we wouldnt be able to go on honeymoon right away boooooo!!!

so his bday is nov 6 and his nameday is nov 8 so we chose right in the middle (nov 7) so he would never forget it!!! lol

so now hes busy every year on nov 6,7,8

I always wanted to get married on our anniversary or close to it, but I knew a June wedding would be expensive so we decided on late April/early May. Before we chose our date I would use 4/24/10 as a fake date for bridal expos, etc. But when we went to the hall they had the date available, so we made it official and chose that date.

I work at a school so I wanted to do it while I was off during the summer so we could go on a HM right away and bc we will be moving in together at the same time so it will be very busy. We have friends getting married in Sept so we figured the earlier the better and this is what our Chuch and RH had open on the same day.

we wanted summer since FH's a teacher and i love summer. we didnt really care what date, but i was upset that i had to wait till 2010- FH didnt propose until late december and by then it was too late to book that summer- plus my brother threatened me if i got married before him lol.

i fell in love with the woodlands but didnt want to compromise the # of guests, so they sold us on the thursday, july 1st. my dad was happy cuz he hates when summer weddings ruin his weekends. even mine lol.

We knew we wanted September, but I originally wanted the 18th, b/c I thought it looked pretty. But our RH was unavailable that day so we just did the week after.

I'm a teacher and summers would have worked out well....BUT....FH and I wanted more of a fall wedding...so we kinda got the best of both worlds....a September wedding during Labor Day weekend....so at least I would have time before the wedding to plan and back to work 2 days later honeymoon in February and it also happens to be our anniversary date....

We originally wanted May 2nd which is our two year anniversary...but FSIL is getting married May 15th in England so that was out. We needed a warm month so my grandparents could come up from Florida. There was A LOT of drama with FSIL about what date we were and weren't allowed to have, but finally I landed on 7/18 and I decided we weren't moving around anymore.

I am a teacher so a summer wedding is just easier. Now this might sound geeky but there has always been some math around our relationship. Being a math teacher I have notice it. Like we started dating 3.24.08 3 times 8 is 24 lol. So i wanted to do 7.17.10 7 plus 10 is 17 . But we needed a friday night wedding so we picked 7.16.10. Nerdy I know but the truth

me and FH hate the cold, we are not fun ppl when its cold weather, but during warmer months we are very activity driven. So this abolished all the winter months. I knew we can't afford a Summer wedding, so we were looking into late March through end of April. We booked 4/25/10 and I was very happy, but then FSIL mentioned that this is going to be her busiest time with finals at college and asked us if we can move it more into May. FH asked our BM if there is anything open the 1st weekend of May they didn't so it was between Mother's day or the 16th. FH chose 16th. At 1st I was very upset, but then I figured that our dating anniversary is on 12th, got engaged on 14th and now will be married on 16th

at first i wanted Halloween then my neice was born that day so i changed it. then fh wanted valentine's day and i said ok lets go for it not thinking it was going to open. and of course it was so we stuck to that date. which is good cuz we both love winter, and hate summer.

i always thought i wanted a summer wedding until i realized it gets soo hot in the summer. and my bro got married in september and that is when my bday is so october sounded great.. but def wanted early october.. originally we liked 10/10/10.. but that was taken alreadt so we went with oct 1st 2010.. cause its like 10/10/10.. and it was all odd numbers.. I dont like even numbers , hahahaha..

we definitely wanted a fall wedding & the month of october is so beautiful here in PA... so we picked the very middle of october, which was the 16th.

It had to be a Sun so I was looking for a holiday weekend.....I hate hate hate the cold...so Labor Day weekend worked for us...

Originally we wanted February or March, but it would have left us with less then a year to plan the wedding so we then thought May would be perfect. FH family is Russian and apparently there is an old Russian wives tale that it is bad luck to get married in May. We ended up picking the last Saturday in June because it didn't conflict with any holidays or birthdays.

i'm a teacher, i really wanted a saturday night and summer was too expensive for us, so we looked at school vacations, i was petrified of snow in feb (presidents week), so i opted for passover/easter week. it was also the same week of FH's spring break if he didn't finish grad school in the winter

hmm ok...
Fh is big into baseball and Football so he gave me 2 months to pick from ...february and march...those were the months his sports werent playing and also when no play off type stuff would be going on...for the wedding or HM.

then i figured out my period cycle (im on BC so it was easy)...i found the weekends where i wouldnt have it for the wedding or HM and narrowed it down to 2 weekends in Feb and 2 in March.

took those dates to the RH's and went with what was cheapest...February 20th it was!

Part 1 - My FH hates the heat so we couldnt do it in the summer and I hate the cold so we couldn't do it in the winter. I actually wanted to do it in October because I think it is such a beautiful month but I work for an accounting firm and can't take off in October.

Part 2 - Since we were going with September my favorite number is 4 and it happened to be a Saturday so I was so excited until RH was booked for that day. Then we were going to do the 18th (FH favorite #) but that is a Jewish holiday and FH has a lot of Jewish friends who would not have been able to attend if we did it that day soooooo we went with the 5th because it was the only day available that worked with our schedual!!
