Wedding Day Itinerary- How long does it take to get ready?

Ok so I just booked Old Westubury Gardens for 3:30-5:00pm on my wedding day to take pictures. By 5:30 we should get to the hall which will give us time before the 6:30 cocktail hour to take pictures there.

I have the limo for 3 hours to pick us up at 2:30.

When would I have to start getting ready? Also I wanted photo/video to be there but my videographer is only 12 hours and my party is until 12:30 past midnight so he'd come at 12:30 in the afternoon which is too late.

This stuff makes me nervous, how did you guys plan out your day? And how early did you get up and get ready and were the photo/video there?? Eek.

Great question.. I'm wondering this too! I'm a compulsive shower-er, so I can't imagine not showering for like hours & hours & hours before I have to go!

My ceremony was at 3pm and my photog was arriving at 1pm, so I had my girls come over around 10am so start on hair & makeup. There were 7 of us getting ready together, 2 hair stylists and 1 makeup girl. Altogether it took about 3.5 hours for all of us to be completely ready. We had plenty of time to relax and enjoy some mimosas and breakfast too!

I amplanning my day based on what time I have to get to the RH for pictures before the wedding.

I think I can get there at 4pm or 4:30. Based on that I have a tentative schedule:

12:00 Get to hair/makeup with mom/girls

2-2:30 pm leave salon go back to hotel

3-3:45 girls get dressed, we get in limo

4-4:30 arrive at RH. I get dresses s photo can get me while getting ready.

5pm ish start taking 'formal pix'

7pm rehersal

7:30 sign Ketubah (for a jewish wedding)

8:00 Marry man of my dreams :)

You have to kind of work back from the time you HAVE to be ready, then talk to hair and makeup people and decide with them how long they need and then it all kind of falls into place.

I didnt do a timeline. I knew how long I had photo and video for and worked back from the end time.

wow, I never thought that it would have to be so early. Glad this question was asked.

yea my sisters church ceremony started at like 11 and we were getting our hair done at like 7:45 but the hair stuff started at like 7AM
