I really wanted wedding pictures on the beach, but I live in Queens and the reception is at Jericho Terrace, so the beaches are REALLY far (unless there's a closer one that I don't know of) and I'm scared its going to be too long of a ride. Where is everyone else taking their pics?

I'm in Middle Village, near Glendale..
Are you getting married at a church? IF so, which one? I still need to find a church, how horrible is THAT?!

What about Belle Harbor/Rockaway beach. During the summer its VERY crowded from 116-130 but hten if you head into nuponsit, you can have a basically empty beach...
Just take the marine parkway bridge. I grew up tehre and I love it.. The beach also has white sand. We were going there but fh wants the 'historic' pictures of coney islands board walklol
Hmm..I'm going to have to take a test run and see about how long it would take to get there from JT.... white sand sounds VERY pretty!!
Coney Island pics sounds BEAUTIFUL!!!
I know at the Cyclones game this year they had a HUGEEEEEEEEEEEE Billboard for your RH..I wonder if it would still be there next summer?!?

i wanted to go to a location BUT its hard bc december will probably be freezing out - i think we are just going to ask JT how early we can go in before our ceremony and just do all of our pics there - our ceremony is at 6 - im hoping we can get in there a few hours before that but im not sure....
I'm sure they'll let you come earlier for pics..just ask! There are actually a ton of picture opportunities right in Jericho Terrace! My photographer actually said we should spend 45min to an hour just at JT taking pictures...
But if you did want other options I know Botanical Gardens has an indoor area to take pictures , there's def a fee but I don't know how much...

Ur welcome... plus there's the walking trail... there's a lot of lil places to take pics. I'm thinking of taking my pics there if it's not too cold that day cuz i'm at Floral Terrace and there's not grounds to take outdoor pics.

Another pretty place!! I'm ashamed to say I'm a New Yorker because I've been clueless about all these places. I think I need to put on an 'I <3 New York' t-shirt..grab a camera and take FH on a site-seeing tour of all these places!!!

I live in Queens and my RH is very close to yours. I am having the same concerns. I liked Long Island City and you get the city skyline but I am still trying to come up with more ideas. Old Westbury Gardens is always an option (my sis took her piks there so I am not crazu abpout doing the same thing). Hopefull the girls give us some good ideas!
I was thinking about Old Westbury Gardens, but on their website it says you can't go in after 4:00, is that for Brides too? I might give them a call tomrrow. Do you know how much they charge? At first I didn't realyl want to go the whole 'garden' route, but I feel there might not be many more options????
I just booked a slot there today. Between 9am-3pm, it's $275. 3:30pm is $315, and from there it goes up $40 per 30 min increment up to 5:30pm, which is $475. Each slot is 1.5 hours; it fills up surprisingly fast! I just called today and I almost didn't get a slot, there are already 5 other weddings booked there for photography.

How long are you having your photographer for? I have mine for 10 hours, but was planning to get ready at a hotel nearby. I had really wanted LIC skyline pics (had actually seriously considered 'Waters' Edge' as a reception venue), but LIC seems too far from Jericho Terrace (where I'm getting married).
How are you other girls doing it? The further locations?
