Wedding Dress

Hello,
I am not getting married until Novemebr 2, 2002.
When do you think I should start trying on dresses? Do you think it is too soon?

Wedding Dress--we have the same date

Hi! I am also getting married on 11/02/02. How funny. Where are you getting married? I am going stary my preliminary looking in June and hope to have the dress ordered by November of 2001. This will allow for a long order time and will give me the flexibility to have as many fittings as I need.

Start looking to see what you like, but I wouldn't order it yet. The fall 2001 and spring 2002 lines come out before you get married.

I ordered mine about 8 months in advance - September for a May wedding. It took a month to come in, and I didn't start fittings until February. I agree that you may want to wait a bit to see the newer styles come out.

My wedding is July 4, 2002 and I am going on Thursday to a couple of shops and trying on mega dresses. I probably won't buy one, but atleast I know which one I will want.

Wedding Dress - Its never to soon to start looking

If you like to shop go ahead and shop. But I wouldn't buy yet there will be new lines out before you need to order. Most gowns have a 12 week delivery schedule. You may want to do some trying on for style and education on quality at this point.
Take a look at www.bridalgown.com for info on the designers
Have Fun!

I would wait...

I think the more time you have the more time to change your mind...
I got engaged in Aug. of 2000 and I am getting married in June of 2001 - Looking for dresses is one of the best parts - I completely love my dress - but are there other styles out there that I also would of loved (yes) If you pick out something now your mind will probably change by next year. I would say start looking in Sept. - Nov. that gives you plenty of time. A year is more than enough time to plan a wedding. Good Luck.

If you look and find something....

Like Karen H. said, if you do end up looking, and find something you really love, keep in mind the chance of discontinuation of that dress. There will be other dresses out there, but sometimes there is only 'one.'

Luckily, we got our bridesmaids dresses ordered just in the nick of time. Had we waited one more day, we`d have been out of luck. This is the only dress I really liked for the girls. And yes, they like it too.

Don't you feel like it is forever away?
We are having our wedding at the Chateau Briand. What about you?

Your time will go fast ... enjoy every moment! And try not to stress over the details, especially the little ones!

Good Luck!! :)

That is so nice. We are getting married in the Sephardic Temple in Cedarhurst. I know it seems so far off, but I feel like I am so busy. Everyone keeps telling me that the time will fly by--so we'll see. We will be able to keep each other on track for the 'right' time is to do things. Good Luck.
