Wedding Dress

I bought my dress at RK Bridal. My dress alone, w/o alterations, will be $650 (with tax). I wanted to stay under $700 for my dress. For alterations, RK Bridal has a cap of $450, but I am looking for something on Long Island that is closer and maybe less expensive.

Wedding Dress

RK Bridal as well. Retail was $1,400 Before tax, but I got it during a trunk show. I recommend RK, they have dresses at any price point, even up to $8k-$10k. Their dresses are right from the designer so they are not marked up like other salons.

Wedding Dress

I got mine at Renates in Lindenhurst and the dress with tax came out to about $1,600. They have a $250 alteration cap but the bustle is separate and will run about $150. I expect to spend about $2100 in total.

Re: Wedding Dress

I went to Village Bridal and my dress came to about $1650, they have a cap of around $250 I think for alterations and then 150-250 for the bustle. They also gave me my veil for free.

Most places can always work with you on pricing too. Don't just settle for the price on the tag.

Good luck!

Wedding Dress

I went to Bridal Elegance in Huntington. My dress was 1940 and alterations are capped at $325 (including bustle). One of my coworkers referred me there since she had such a great experience for her wedding this past May. I would be very aware of the alteration caps/fees. Those can add up very quickly!

Have so much fun!! And my advice is try on all different shapes and styles. But don't get yourself crazy!

Re: Wedding Dress

It was just over $2,200. It's was a Demetrios dress from the Bridal Salon at Macy's in Manhasset. My alterations were only $210! I loved the people over there. Great experience.

Wedding Dress

I bought lazaro. It was going to cost me about $4500.00 or even more for the dress in the store. I really wanted this dress but not for the price so I went on preownedweddingdresses.com and bought my dress from a woman in California for 1400.00. Now I have to go to get it altered! But the dress is brand new- no marks. Was dry cleaned. I'm so happy. And I saved so much money!

RK Bridal alterations caps are $450. That being said I think I will probably end up getting my dress alters somewhere on the Island.

I forget if it was Bridal Reflections or RK Bridal but one of them told me most brides spend around $300-$350 on alterations as an average.

Re: Wedding Dress

I bought my dress at Max Bridal in Mineola. I spent $1800.

I love, love this store! My consultants (Courtney and Jillian) were amazing and so incredibly helpful and patient. I never felt rushed and they brought me what I asked for. They asked if I was open to other styles, which I was, so they brought me different styles but adjusted each gown based on what I liked and didn't like.

They only take one bride at a time, so the whole store is for you. And I believe their max dress price is around $3000. They do not cap alterations though. It's a smaller store but they have such gorgeous dresses!

I definitely recommend making an appointment at Max Brida!
